  1. I have recorded a song that contains loops, midi drums and keyboard, electric gtr, electric bass, several different lead voc tracks and also 6 background voc tracks. Project tempo was 112. I have found the song was recorded too slow. I tried varispeed but even going up 2%-well, I can hear sonic degradation and so I have decided to keep my midi and loop tracks-bump the track BPM up to 115 and retrack the recorded audio (Vocs, gtr & bass). As expected guitars-bass and most of the vocals were totally out of whack/too slow when I bumped the meter up from 112 to 115 for the new version of this song. No worries-I expected this and will simply retrack. BUT>To my surprise the several lead voc tracks have switched tempos and sit perfectly in time with the track and sound natural-no artifacts that i can hear--WOW!!!! This is a bonus. BUT-why would these couple tracks migrate to the new tempo and not others...what is going on...?...
  2. I have a midi track recorded with a midi drum kit/pads. I think the kit was wonky or the drummer a little heavy handed - maybe both, not sure because there are double and triple hits on most of the midi notes (stacked up on each other) but randomly single hits as well. Is there a simple way to delete the redundant midi notes or do I have to scrub through measure by measure and delete each note each hit.... thanks for any help
  3. I'm back at my DAW for a bit and/or we can schedule also. Thanks a ton David
  4. Is there a way to do a screen share? I am able to pay for a consult if needed and have filled out the prompt on this site. Dave, it would be great to have you look at this project today and get me dialed in
  5. Okay-just got off phone with Apple tech support. The beat markers WILL act up and do not always work. When this happens manipulate your tempo map with the tempo view above because Logic has a flaw in this regard. You can get into your project and random beats on the beat markers will not affect any change when you move them. Moving up a few measures and moving beat markers does work-lol. Well that solves that.
  6. I thought i was moving the beat markers and the metronome played the adjustment. is that not what's supposed to happen?
  7. the metronome was playing quarter notes to where i slid the markers. Now it's just chiming to it's own beat up to where I took a break and came back to work. It plays the file accurately to where I edited in the 1st 30 bars or so and after that when i slide the markers-my editing has no affect on the metronome
  8. yes -grabbing the markers and moving over the correct transients but it's not making a beat noise over the marker when i move it. maybe I inadvertantly turned something on/off--have a look
  9. Okay -I imported the audio and set to beat map but because the song has several surprise 4/4, 3,4 and 2,4 measures the beat goes off the downbeat and I'm looking at several hours to fix this. i can slide the beat markers and enter the correct time signatures to fix the problem. i got 40 measures in and Logic will no longer play the beat markers when i move them-they seem to not be taking affect when i move them. Just to make sure I took the next beats and squished them to gether and-nope-Logic is no longer letting me edit this file. why would it do this? I'll try restarting this iMac...ugh..
  10. I imported some tracks of a song with guitar and drums. The song moves through several intense tempo dynamics and is a bit of a fast tempo metal style song. I'm wanting to make a midi file of the audio drums. I will tap out and program the beats but I'm wanting to do it to grid. I wish I had this audio synced to click but there's no way to just set a tempo and go with it as the song moves thru many tempos. There used to be sort of a complicated way to make a midi tempo map. Something like tap in the quarter notes to the audio and then and bunch of other hoops to jump through and it usually only worked 75% of the time for me (or less). Is there an easy to do this these days or where do I find the instructions on how to do this-I forgot how it's done. thanks for any help friends! Jeff
  11. I opened a midi file and it spread all the drums out to separate tracks. I'm wanting to copy all of those tracks and combine them into one track for Superior drummer. Is there an easy way to do this?
  12. all i want to do is take 3 measures of snare roll hits and have them go from 33-114 in velocity..it just doesn't seem to "take"...hmm...was so simple in Cakewalk years ago...what am I not seeing?
  13. the apple rep worked with it on my machine and it did not work properly on my machine or his but maybe they have fixed the issue since. I have moved onto 3 more projects and 14 shows since recording this
  14. I edit a vocal take and write in automations for that track. I decide later that the whole thing needs to come down just a bit so I write in a relative volume, also, to bring it all down just a hair. Oops-I have one part of the verse I want back up a bit so i go to the edit the original volume parameters but when I adjust the automation within track view the volume does not respond in realtime. I have to stop and then play again to hear the change. This is no way to mix. I contacted applecare/Logic team and that person had the same issue when they created a project on their end and are getting back to me. Did i find another bug? I have been congratulated before for finding illogical behaviors from the team....
