  1. I know what you are referring to, as MainStage MIDI preferences allow you to select between 0-127 or 1-128, but that only affects the MainStage patch listing, not the programs of an external device.
  2. Help, Strange phenomenon yesterday... My MainStage Patches were behaving normally, i.e. typing in patch change request selected the proper MainStage patch. But within these patches, I have external instruments sending program changes to a hardware keyboard and wireless MIDI dongle. The wireless MIDI was fine, but the program change sent to the Nord was not landing correctly. It was one program ABOVE the previously programmed destination. With 45 MainStage patches, it was a real pain to go to each and adjust by 1. Which I did.... and then did a "save as", just in case this behaviour doesn't repeat itself and I actually need the originally programmed numbers. Any idea why? I feel it is more than likely a Nord problem more than a MainStage issue.
  3. It's all relative to the plugins. You'll definitely have difficulty with CPU intensive sounds and effects. But I'm amazed at what I'm able to do with my 2007 iMac and a Tascam 1604! I've got a band practice setup with V-Drums routed to Drum Kit Designer (would rather use Addictive Drums 2 but they require too much CPU), 5 mic inputs, 2 different stereo guitar inputs and a stereo keyboard input, along with bass. Bass is running through Bass Amp (software plugin) and the mics all run into a shared bus for vocal effects.
  4. I'm thrilled to see the 79.4 ms number, because I believe as you've suggested, that it is in fact an error and not a true indication of the latency. While setting up a concert for band practice on an older (Core Duo 2!) iMac, this is the number that I got too, using the DKD SoCal kit. But there's no way it's actually that, because the drums were playing exactly as expected with 8-10 roundtrip latency. I added a limiter with lookahead, and then I could feel latency, but it was gone again once removed. jpb
  5. I think that note off code is critical. I've had instances where after a certain number of hits, they stop registering.
  6. Ok, standard routing is as follows: Kick - C1 Snare - D1 Tom 1 - C2 Tom 2 - A1 Left Cymbal (Cymbal 1) - A#1 -> alternate routing to G#1 for all velocities below 64 (let's start there to experiment. Right Cymbal (Cymbal 2) - C#2 -> alternate routing to D#2 for all velocities below 64 And if it isn't too difficult...perhaps for version 1.2?...(getting greedy now LOL) Alternate routing of snare, D1 to D2 for all hits above 120 Alternate routing of tom2, A1 to G1 for all hits above 120 And for version 1.3 Third routing of Cymbal 1 to A2 for all 127 hits. Trust me when I say I present these extra options as merely bonus options because at this stage I don't understand how difficult the programming is. I'm already over the moon at the ability to route just the 2 cymbals. Thanks once again, looking forward to the next stage.
  7. Wow wow, thank you! I'm away from home right now but you can safely assume general midi standard drum note numbers. But if changing things after the fact is difficult, I'd hate for you to waste time before i get the exact details for you. This it's great, I'm already thinking of even more possibilities where cymbal A at 127 is a different crash, and the 2nd tom at 127 becomes an even deeper floor tom. Once again, thank you. I'll post a video with the setup once we've got it set.
  8. Hello all, Hoping you can help create a simple(?) MIDI FX script. I have a simple 5 pad + 1 kick midi capable (and velocity sensitive) drum pad. I'd like to add to the capability of the two cymbals by setting a velocity threshold where... on cymbal A) hits above a certain threshold play an open hi-hat sound instead of the standard close (which the note is originally routed to) and... on cymbal B) hits below a certain threshold would play a ride sound instead of the standard crash (which the note is originally routed to) I know this is easily done AFTER the fact with transform midi functions, but I'd like to have it as a MIDI FX plug so that it works "live" in MainStage. I graciously thank anyone who can help me out. jpb
