  1. Think I found it - the issue seems to be instruments inside folder stacks. Found this thread viewtopic.php?f=42&t=107045 from 7 years ago Will try some of the work-arounds
  2. Update.....I started a new template file and worked for a while but stopped after I added some instruments (retro synth & alchemy). I deleted the com.apple.logic.pro.cs file but this didnt fix it.
  3. Hi David. My thoughts exactly. Yes - Im twisting the knobs right around the & the assignments do show. In the new file that does work, the assignments look like this: In the template file where its not working, it looks like this: Cheers
  4. Hi there Ive recently purchased a little Nektar LX25+ as my main midi controller. Ive downloaded the Logic integration software and installed it. What I would like to do is use the 8 knobs to control smart controls for all my instruments. This is actually already setup in the Nektar default controller assignments and works fine in a new file. However, I cant get any external controller (LX25 or Akai midimix) to control the smart controls in my template file, but can control parameters direct no with probs. Im seeing the assignments show in the smart control inspector, but theres no external control of smart controls. Given the amount of time Ive spent setting-up my template file, I would prefer to troubleshoot in the template than start again. Keen to know what to look for and what process I should follow to find the issue within the template file. Cheers in advance.
  5. Hi Fuzz. Slightly delayed reaction - but I didnt know that leaving them selected made them chnage - this was half my problem! Cheers again.
  6. Ive since found further issues with the sysex editor - entry values defaulting back to zero and getting unexpected results when copying data from one sysex editor window to another. What I have love about the logic environment is the ability of button/fader objects to store a long list of commands then fire them off at once - then control these with a CS. Ive tried to replicate this using the Controller Assignments window - but this takes much longer than copying/pasting sysex fader data between objects - esp when single controls do multiple tasks. Ive read somewhere the people have moved from Logic to Max for tricky control/midi setups - might be something to look into - if I feel I have the time to get my head around it.
  7. Hey fuzz. WTF? What genius thought that was a good idea? Oh well - will do as you suggest. Cheers again
  8. The channel column in my sysex fader editor isnt showing. Not sure when this disappeared - havent done anything in this window for quite a while. But as a result, I have no way of seeing or editing the fader channel. Its definitely there in some screenshots I have seen in searches. How else can I assign the fader channel for each list entry? The chan info is being output - looking at the monitor object in the environment window.
  9. Got it! I tried your way and it worked - so many thanks. After a couple of attempts I realised that automation WAS being recorded, I just needed to show automation to see it. Im still at a loss as to why Im not able to create a track for my transformer object as explained here https://www.soundonsound.com/techniques/we-got-beat-part-2 and record the sysex data from the buttons as described - but Im happy that I have another way now. Cheers again
  10. It certainly does! Would you be kind enough to show me a screen shot of the transformer object?
  11. I did as suggested but the transformer no longer passes anything to the beat repeat channel strip:
  12. Got it loud and clear. Many thanks. Will let you know how I get on
