  1. I'm thinking of jumping from Garageband 10+ to Logic Pro X but before that I need to confirm a few things: Is there a full list of instruments that Logic Pro X has (I could not find this anywhere)? How many grand pianos are there? How many string type instruments are there? woodwinds? Are there more guitar amps than Garageband? Is it even worth it to jump from Garageband 10+ to Logic Pro X?
  2. Garargeband used to be cool before version 10. It had a large amount of virtual instruments from several different types of grand piano and strings such as cello, violins, picazzo strings, tremelo strings, and a full orchestral string. I don't own a mac before version 10 was out. I actually bought myself a mac mini but after version 10 was out. Don't get me wrong, Garageband 10 is still OK but wasn't as good as the older version but only one type of grand piano to no picazzo strings and such, feels very lacking. The guitar amps aren't that great sounding either without some fiddling. I was wondering why Apple crippled some of Garageband from version 10 and then later? Is it to get us to buy Logic pro which possibly have all those features and more? Was it a marketing strategy? Or am I doing something wrong of not seeing the features in version 10+?
  3. the closet program in a windows environment that almost is identitcal to Garageband is Mixcraft BUT Acoustica who makes Mixcraft has problems with their licensing; it glitches a lot and asks you to input your serial key every time; sometimes it locks your plugins because of the licensing issue. My copy of Mixcraft is a legit copy and it still has all those problems which pissed me off and thus, I went out a bought a Mac mini and loaded it with Garageband. There are things I don't like about either programs but they both have their flaws and pros. Mixcraft has better sounding guitar amps as well as larger selection of virtual instruments compared to the crippled Garageband 10.1 that I have. Garageband used to have more but since version 10, they've taken out a huge chuck of decent instruments like for piano and strings.
