Hi It happened to me also,which was never in logic.I believe some kind of bug? Did u copy any files from another project ? I deleted those files. Relaunched the logic. Everything got clear. Thank God I use LOGIC 9.1.5, IMac 27",I5 quad core

Place all your music starting point at SMPTE 01 00 28 00 it will sync to movie, check whether it is playing correctly ? it should, ,,,, export to movie

Hi, After all the above suggestions one must not forget that clinking anywhere in the LOGIC arrange area page means regreshing LOGIC [David said this somewhere in the forum or must be in his book]and that has really helped me[i constantly do it]considering LOGIC 8 has lot of bugs.[ WINDOWS people regularlly require " refresh "] Sometimes small things make a big difference and can help you in a way which is unseen but constant.

I feel this is a some kind of bug ,where u can not make apple loops below 75 tempo.As earlier in logic 7 i used to go till 60[which is the minimum].Now as i go below 75,and open in apple loops utility it shows double the tempo,which should not happen.I do not want to ulter my bacic song tempo all the time and convert into audio files and then use as nornal audio files instead of apple loops. why? Can some one confirm this or help me? I do not know think i am doing something wrong. [G5 2.5 DUAL core,Leopard,2.5 GB RAM,Logic 8.0.2]

a BIG hi and thanks to David, I have been using logic for last 3 years[never used any other platform earlier or even computer,Apple is the 1st] and thought know lots about it,so do not want any help as i always prefer to check myself with the manuals and this forum as this is great help all the time.I have found so many answers from people asking questions. But finally i thought ,i must look once into this book,and recieved my copy 15 days back.and i must tell you[finished 250 pages reading and studing]it has been a great learning uptill now and i am surprised that i did not know so many things.your book has mainly helped me to know so many short cuts which are not written in the book.and some are just forgotton, which u have made as a part of operating.I really feel why i was not using those terms or methods uptill now. Thanks to u that i have known them now and learnt which has made my working very fast.[some of the short cuts have really saved my lots of time] Thanks a lot once again and congratulations for this wonderfull work. I will come to this once again as i finish the book. God bless you.

Yes,i have the same problem,in fact the problem is same when i use " import audio file" ,from any folders stored in different hard disks[apple loops or normal wave /aiff files]They play in the original pitch in any other media players but not in logic 8. This was not in Logic 7.It played all files in the original pitch.I feel this is some kind of bug .they have improved a lot in 8.0.2 and waiting for the updates all the time. Logic 8 has the maximum bugs uptill now from any of the earlier versions. I have never seen so many people wanting help all the time on this site before logic 8,may be newer buyers want readymade help as some of the questions are very basics,which can be solved by reading manual,[but the fact remains that there are many bugs] I use [Logic 8.0.2,Leopard ,G5 2.5 dual core,2.5 ram,]

Hi,What i have understood from your problem this is what i do to start my project at bar 1.1.1.1 to sync with desired Video position. Set your off set of SMPTE in setting >syncronizition [at which you want to start your music i.e. 01.01.31.23 ].setting and video start setting at 0.0.0.0. See if this helps you.

Hi,just to give you my reaction to this.I put a new hard disk,new OS Leopard[earlier on Tiger],all fresh installation. In the begining no problems,but even i have got same kind of messages from Logic 8 recently.I feel this is some kind of a bug!!!! And to add Logic8 has the maximum bugs uptill now than any of its earlier versions. I think every one will agree to this!!! Just to give you a simple example. I had made lots of EXS24 instruments[1500]in Logic 7 with some names having a full stop sign inbetween like " Rhy.section 01" .This opens up fine in L8,but if you resave, then ".section 01"becomes your file formet and not the new file formet ".exs"which happens otherwise like if you give the name" Rhythem section 01"It will be saved as" Rhythem section 01.exs" This is really very basic and funny.There are lots of bugs like this in L8 along with some solid improvents in audio and graffic engine with easy workflow Waiting for the new version

Hi,i have just fresh installed L8 with leopard on a brand new hard disk last week and I also have the same problem.I somehow managed to convert 3 audio files into apple loops !!! after lots of quiting and don't save.....apple utility.I am really struggling to get that function. Temporarily open audio fies in >choose region>Add to apple loops library.You wil lbe able to ceate apple loops in "my loops" folder in loop browser.It will take some time as it is filled with lots of loops.Give name starting with ' z' or ' x' so when you go for search they will appear at the bottom. ALL THE BEST.

Open this inst.no. the first column is icon. Hold on the icon photograph, in two seconds you should be able to open the page and select. I think , we are talking on the same topic or problem.

As i want to upgrade to Logic 8 by installing a new 500 GB hard disk and so reinstalling everything,I started with 7.0 and went on upgrading till 7.2.2 ,What i want to know[rather confirm] is,should i install 7.0[the basic which i bought] and straight away put Logic 8[should be the correct theory]OR upgrade all till 7.2.2 and then go Logic 8? And I am installing Leopard too.So how good Logic8 is with Leopard? [i use G5 dual core,2.5khz,2.5GB ram,MOTU 828,MTPAV]

Hi,you do not need to save it.Once you creat a new instrument,you will be able to see the no.#xxxx.of the instrument on the top.Now select this no.#xxxx from the EXS24 main selection window[As you keep your mouse pointer there,you will be able to see the entire list of intruments.....th last will be no.xxxx,which you have created,select this and you are now on newly created instrument,now select your samples,do your all work on it and "save instrument as" to well organized folder>sub folder>sub folder... give a desired name and it is there,You may, may not create sub folders. If you rename or delete any instrument just "refresh ".
