I have Logic 10.4.8. Just did a session at a friends who has later version, so I can't open his session on my computer. How can he save his session to an older version so I can open it?

Hi, this isn't totally answering the question about Q-Swing or where the subtle swing slider is for audio files, as there is for MIDI. When I do as you say w Flex, etc. the Q-Swing is disabled and i don't see any other place where I can adjust swing strength. All it gives me are the various Quantize options, eg. 1/16 Swing A, B, C, etc.

I have a string septet where I had to use different midi tracks for different string articulations for the same instrument (example: cello - bow short, long, pizzicato, etc.). How do I designate the multiple tracks of cello articulation to one cello staff in the Score Editor? Right now I have 2 cello parts that have 6 tracks/staffs between them w the different articulations, 2 viola parts w 6 tracks/staffs, etc. I'd love to get it to 7 staffs for 7 strings.

So, I deleted that score set. Returned all midi channels back to 1 or -. For some reason the piano wouldn't show up if its midi channel was 1, but did if I put it to -. ?? Now I see that it is working and adds the instruments as they come in, so the extra violas/violins show up later in the score. As for the score sets, I'm not seeing their function yet. I got the full score visual by just clarifying the Staff Styles in Layout.

Yes, I got all that, and set up the Score to be a septet w piano, but it is only showing me a quartet w piano in page view.

Trying to set up a string septet w piano and it only shows me piano and a quartet in page view/Score (N key). All midi tracks are there in the session. I've viewed Notes/Score w both all and none of the regions selected and same issue. How do I customize in page view to see all instruments laid out properly? I know Score Editor is not perfect, but I will need to print out the full score that's relatively legible for players. Hoping I can do this w/o having to purchase 3rd party notation software.

Just had this issue. If you're going back & forth between Mavericks & High Sierra boot drives, seems if you create a folder or session on one, it will do this when you try to work w it within the other OS. Finder > Get Info > Sharing & Permissions at the bottom > Make sure Read & Write is selected for you/your Admin or + it.

I want to do a basic sidechain kick to duck a synth pad to an exact 1/8 note pulse. I can get there with the Logic compressor, but it lacks tempo accuracy and doesn't sound that great (getting a click sound). Is there a better plugin, setting or another way to do exact tempo pulses for 1/8, 1/16 notes, etc.? Open to 3rd party plugin recs, too.

Thanks, JakobP. That makes a bit more sense as to why there would even be a choice. I do have LLM on all the time because I record more audio than use plugins w latency. I just want to know if there's a customizable on/off default for LLM. Oh, and Schlomo? Don't even bother with comments like that. Try to imagine a larger world besides your own.

No kidding? The issue is a program default setting ought to be a useful one, or easily reprogrammed and set until changes by the user. I've never once in the 8+ years of using Logic needed the Latency mode to be off. Intuitively, the default should be on. It shows more of how out of touch the Logic program admins are. I would guess they don't use it professionally with any real depth or consistency.

Yes, and? I'm still in Logic 10.0.7, but this is still an issue. I just opened a session, recorded vocals (assuming low latency mode was on as I had saved it yesterday) and it was off. Thus I had to redo vocal take.

Got it. This happens when I import tracks from other sessions. Not in trash, but original session audio folder. Once I locate there all seems fine.

Same thing going on and the files are not in my trash. Lmk if you find any solution to find and/or retrieve them.
