  1. Updated - thanks for the reminder - I hadn't been on here in a while, and forgot.
  2. have a look at my post just a few minutes ago - i was having same issue. in Settings > Audio > General there's a checkbox that mentions garageband. for some reason that is now checked by default and it makes you have no input monitoring. if you uncheck that, maybe this will solve your problem?
  3. Hi all - I just opened up Logic for the first time in a while, and bad things were happening. Here are a few of the details: Create an audio track, set input to Input 1, output is Stereo Out I am plugged into Input 1 and I can see input level both in Logic and on my interface I record enable the track - I would expect to hear myself at this point, and I do not I press record, and I play the guitar - I can see audio signal laying down on the track Stop recording, and press Play - and I can hear the recorded audio I did a little searching online, and found that in Settings > Audio > General, they mention a checkbox for "Input monitoring only for focused track, and only when input monitoring is enabled (as in Garageband)" - unchecking this resolved the issue. It seems that this setting has been toggled perhaps in 10.8.1? Or maybe something else changed it? I am 99.999% sure I didn't change it, and this has never been an issue before, so I wasn't even aware of this setting. In any case, if you run into this, hopefully this is your solution. Phew. Bob
  4. One more note - I have to see it seems a little glitchy - it isn't as simple as "happens in stacks, but not when the tracks are flattened" - today I had it not work --> work --> not work --> work, and was having a hard time identifying specific repro steps to cause the problem.
  5. Hey there -- I am on 10.7.2. A feature I like to use is the infinite hold of the peaks, with "compare" enabled. I do this because it's useful when playing around with mods to my amplifier -- I can compare the spectrogram for a sample that I run through the amp either with or without the mod in place. This feature has worked exactly as expected for me previously, but today, I am finding that it's not holding the peak. Every few seconds it loses it and starts integrating again. I tried restarting Logic, and that didn't fix it. I attached a screenshot of the settings I am using. There's no data the grid because I took the screenshot without playing the track, but there would be data - just not continuously integrating with permanent hold. Any idea why this may not be working as it previously did? One more detail -- The track I was doing this was in a Summing Stack with another track that was not playing. If I flatten the stack, then the summing behavior works as expected. So it *seems* like this may be track stack related? But I am not sure I trust myself... does this make sense?
  6. One more detail -- this is not related to the Motu M2. If I disconnect my interface, and just update them with the Mac default interface, it still takes 30 seconds. This was true on the previous version of macOS as well, and has persisted with Monterey. So it's got to be either MacOS or Logic Pro X. Any thoughts?
  7. Yup -- Here's a repro video on an empty project. 32 seconds to apply changes!
  8. Hi all -- I am using the latest version of Logic Pro X with a Motu M2 interface. I've noticed with this interface, if I make an audio preferences change like I/O Buffer Size, it takes between 20-30 seconds to apply and have the UI become responsive again. In the past, with other interfaces I've had from Focusrite or M-Audio, it's been more like 3-5 seconds. I get about the same delay in the UI becoming available on initial connect as well (i.e. if I have Logic open, and then connect the Motu). There was a few years where I didn't use Logic much, so I don't know if there's something about Logic that changed, or perhaps the latest Mac OSs (Monterey & Big Sur) are causing the slowdown. But it's never been fast with this interface, which I bought less than a year ago. I've got a ticket filed with MOTU as well, but I wanted to make sure nobody is experiencing the same thing with other interfaces in Logic Pro X these days. Thanks.
  9. Actually - I stand corrected. I updated one of my laptops from 10.7.1 to 10.7.2 to see if it resolved the bug, and it did. So then I updated my second laptop, which was on 10.6.x to 10.7.2, confident that I had the fix. But I am seeing the same issue now with 10.7.2. Same machine specs as in my signature. I am attaching a video repro so you can see what I'm doing and what is happening. Thanks for any more thoughts you can share! That said -- I did figure out a workaround. In my Folder Stacks, I have 2 individual tracks + a series of summing stacks. If I remove the 2 individual tracks from the folder, then I can move the folder stack without it ejecting the summing stacks (not shown in video - discovered it afterwards). It's strange, right? (if you're wondering what the heck I'm doing, I was doing a speaker shootout, so I recorded sample guitar tracks of some familiar songs and random things, and reamped through a series of speakers -- hence the desire for organizing a large # of tracks).
  10. That's correct - I just hadn't updated my signature in 5 years now my stats are visible for all to see. Updated to 10.7.2 and confirm that the issue is resolved. Thank you!!
  11. Hi there -- I've got a project with a large # of tracks, and I have a need to use both folder stacks (to group sets of tracks) and summing stacks (for processing subsets of tracks within each folder). The way I have it set up is that I have multiple folder stacks, and each of those has multiple summing stacks within. When I have all my folder stacks collapsed, so that I see only the list of folder stacks in my track view, I had a desire to change the order of them. I assumed that I could do this simply by dragging a folder stack up or down the track list and it would insert the selected folder stack between the others. This is not what happens. When I try to move a folder stack, it does move it, but it seems to spit out its summing stacks, so I then end up with a folder stack that does not contain summing stacks. And since you cannot add summing stacks to a folder stack without collapsing them all, re-folderizing, and then re-summing, the most sensible thing I could think to do was just Undo and live with my folder stacks in the non-desired order. Is this a bug, or is this not supported, or am I just doing something wrong? Using 10.6.3 on Monterey. Thanks!
  12. I have searched and seen this topic has come up in past, but I did not find the past solutions to be applicable to my situation. I've got a vocal track that I'd like to make some pitch tweaks to, and when I enable Flex Pitch, the overlay does not appear. I've used Flex Pitch successfully in the past, and in a different project that I have the overlay comes up normally. I attached a screenshot and as you can see in the inspector, Flex is on for the region. I have scrolled all the way to top and bottom of piano roll and there's no notes anywhere. It does seem to work for other tracks in the project (e.g. guitar) but not for the vocal tracks that I need to edit. Suggestions? Apologies if I have not provided enough info! I'm using Logic Pro X 10.4.7. I imported this project from a friend whom I'm helping, and I am not sure what version of Logic they were using, but I am pretty sure it's at least X. Thank you in advance!
