  1. yes I know it was a quick swipe at the keys but I seem to have disabled those commands
  2. I can no longer stop and rewind with the spacebar and return key on my keyboard.I must have hit something while cleaning my keyboard egad. . .no more chips by the keyboard...is there a way to reset those controls?? thanks
  3. ya that's cool thanks. I guess I sometimes get into trouble because I listen to a playback and change my monitor volume then change my input volume because its so loud and fail to really be checking my levels on the master output. I guess I need to really set up a song with good levels and set my monitor listening level to that. checking that the mastering level are strong. watch and listen aha. its good to cover the basics sometimes.
  4. I have a basic question which has been for me a problem. I use a Focusrite clarett 2 pre and Logic Pro x.... monitors Yorkville YSM2p levels???? I have the levels I am recording with controlled by the clarett inputs and also the level faders in logic . the output levels are through the output of the master and also the faders on the track And the monitor master volume allows me to listen to it all louder or quieter....the monitors also have input sensitivity level off to -10 I understand the monitor does not effect the recordings volume but it does effect my "reading" of the levels I am recording or what I think the levels are aside from what the meters are telling me for instance I recorded a acoustic guitar I had my monitor level high and didn't pay attention to the level meter and so it was very quiet recording how do I set the monitor volume so I know what I am listening to is solid good not clipping not too quiet.? I guess I need a guide as the monitor volume goes up to ten but I never go past five. how do you create a base to work volume from?
  5. I have some tunes I need a friend to do lead on he has protools. I have Logic Pro x. how do I send him my tune get him to do lead send it back to me and I mix in the rest and master over here in logic. it will be easy right? I have the book Logic Pro X 10.1 by David Nahmani haven't found it yet
  6. hello, ive been following this forum for a few weeks since I decided to upgrade my old interface and computer. Now I have a lovely new iMac Mac OS Sierra..10.12.1...3.1ghz...i5...16gb ram and Focusrite pre2 to my studio.(you can't take it with you) I was a cubase user le4 and this Logic Pro is a lovely step up big time. my mics sound great with this new interface. ah technology. my question is this my system crashed as I was mixing a new project. my first project egad. only eight tracks a couple of midi synth tracks ,bass guitar ,two acoustics and vocals . now could the system crash because I need to change the bit rate to do mixes? I read about that somewhere... do I need to optimize my iMac for logic pro ? is there a good tutorial on explaining bit rate sample rate configuration for noobs like me? I remember having to do that for my pc
