  1. Dude! Yep... That's it! Changing that allowed me to simply learn all new assignments for transport controls with the Akai Advance (without all the little bugs and weirdness). For the record, "Listen to MMC input" is still gone from the new Logic (10.7) options. This is how I had it set up prior to updating to Logic 10.7, but this work-around is more than sufficient. Mannnnnny thanks. You make the Logic Pro world a better place
  2. Thanks for weighing in David, So for instance, I'm trying to assign the play button on my Akai Advance to simply play (as the transport control).. Then I go into key commands and press LEARN NEW ASSIGNMENT, then press the physical play button on my Akai Advance.. When I press the physical play button on my Akai Advance it does not seem to learn the assignment, but I do get this signal on the top of the logic screen showing "X 2 0 0..." where the midi input should be, seen here... This is where I get stuck for this particular play button issue. Any ideas? I hope I'm explaining this correctly.
  3. I use my Akai Advance 61 Controller to trigger Logic Pro transport controls. I was using Logic Pro 10.4 where the transport functions/assignments were working great. I achieved this by going through these instructions.. https://inmusicbrands.force.com/akaipro/s/article/Akai-Pro-Advance-Series-and-VIP-Setup-with-Logic-Pro-X#Transport Controls Now that I've upgraded to Logic Pro 10.7, I've tried to go back to achieve these transport functions but I see now when I go to File > Project Settings > Synchronization then go to Midi, then under MIDI Machine Control (MMC) there is no longer an option to check a box for Listen to MMC Input. I've already tried to edit Key Commands to assign the buttons on the Akai Advance to trigger the play, rec, stop (etc) functions in Logic, but they are unreliable and randomly work here and there (weird, I know). Anyone have any advice or solved this problem in the new Logic Pro 10.7 yet?
  4. *also, if there's another thread where you solve this problem please let me know and I'll follow those instructions instead of you having to explain this again
  5. Hi again David. Thanks for responding. So I followed your instructions and you're right about the midi controller finally working when I "bypass all control surfaces". So I followed your instructions again and got the "Controller Assignments" window open, but there's nothing there. It just says "no assignment selected", with no options to select any note assignments. Any ideas? Thanks again for your help.
  6. Hi David, followed everything you said here as I was trying to find an easy way to control a parameter on a logic plug in it worked brilliantly. Now I'm stuck. After I successfully accomplished assigning a midi knob to a parameter on logic pro x's pedal effects, I have now lost all midi input into logic from the same controller. I followed your exact instructions but can't seem to find (internet or google) how to resolve this issue. Basically I'm stuck with no midi going into Logic any more after using Command-L to learn knob assignment on the same midi controller. How to I go back to the way it was? Thank you.
