  1. I use pads on dynamic instruments (loud) - esp. DRUMS - the pad (usually) cuts about 20db from your input. saving your input ch. from distortion. you can also find a use for pads on instruments that may not be as loud as drums but your using a mic that, is by design a louder condensor mic which will also distort the input ch.
  2. I am looking into purchasing an SSL or a Neve (used) priced around 45 - 50K does anyone know of any websites that I can look for. I have found OdysseyProSound / and OceanAudio to be helpful. any other help would be appreciated. also, any advice on these consoles in this price range would be greatly appreciated also. thanks in advance

  7. I hope I can explain myself clearly here....... Whenever I do a punch; the previously recorded audio exists under the fixed audio. If I (accidently) select the original audio region, the old audio overlaps and replaces the fixed (punched) audio. To avoid this, after every punch in I do, I edit down the original to end right when the punch occurs. This process makes sure that I dont accidently select the old audio and it plays back, but it is very time consuming. Is there a way (preference) to make sure this problem doesn't occur? I hope I have explained myself here......

    OMF

I did have a problem with one song out of 11 on my last project. I tried many different procedures in the export and import process. Logic kept crashing when it was preparing the files for overview. after the crash, I couldn't retrieve any files to import. I came to the conclusion that the cubase session was corrupt. and I didn't (unfortunatly) have a b/up of that session . other then that one problem I have used OMF for many projects and have had no other problems.
  9. is there a way to "drop down" all of the zones that are being used in the pattern of the exs for editing, rather then having to go up and selecting the key 1 at a time? if not, is there a way to have more then one zone dropped for editing? thanks in advance.
  10. ok. so I am jumping in price drastically, but I want to look into getting something even better. Has anyone worked on the Trident Dream ? I have been looking into that console lately and put the ghost aside, after hearing a not so good story of it. even tho the price difference is about 20K , I want the best for the buck
  11. so whats your favorite outboard PEQ? and, WHY? I will admit I havent used many outboard eq's, I have mainly been "in the box" but I am now starting to get the money to look into outboard gear. which is were I have worked best in the past, in learning and at work. so, do you have a favorite p-eq ? and why ?
  12. yeah, I dont mind doing automation thru a controller , but I want to get my mixes set on a console. and use a console that has good pre's and eq's I want a good desk for the price. I dont have the cash for an SSL or NEVE but I want a good sounding board.
  13. I have been looking into getting a console. I have read many good stories on the soundcraft ghost, but have never touched one. does anyone own one, or has anyone used one, if not; does anyone have anyother suggestions, thanks here is a link to one that I was thinking about. this one doesnt have any automation, but I dont mind that cause I could use my controller for that. http://www.fullcompass.com/Products/pages/SKU--27250/index.html
