Yes, I know what a stem is. I write music for media and know how to label tracks.
What I'm getting at is my lack of understanding regarding your workflow when it comes to setting up these of which you mentioned below:
-Sends and their Auxes will be separate for each stem
- each stem Bus will also be the input to a (muted) stem Track
- no more processing happens after the stem Busses/Tracks
To clarify the first question in my post- what I'm trying to avoid is having to bounce every stem one at a time, therefore taking several minutes. Example- I wrote a bunch of cues for a library, and they wanted stems as well (low brass, low strings, hi brass, hi strings, synth, perc., etc.) for each cue. So this took forever to each one individually since I was working with 20 separate cues.
When I took David's class he mentioned there was a way to bounce out stems or tracks, (however you want to label them) individually at once, so they're all ready to send- processed or not processed. If there's a clear way to do that, I would love to know...or as mentioned, a video that you could point me to.
