  1. As promised, here is the solution for any EVO 16 users, (applies possibly to other software mixers): The trick is not to have the send / output channel assigned to the normal audio routing. On the EVO mixer there's a function called DAW THRU. When the send / output is set to DAW THRU, the whole system works as intended. This won't mean much to anyone who doesn't use this particular piece of software, but I've put up a screenshot of the required routing. N
  2. I've followed everything that's stated on Apple's website, and I've referred to the LPX manual. I'm trying to send out of output 5 and the signal returns on input 8. I've tried different ins/outs, with the same resulting feedback. I've tried changing the mix settings within the Eventide H9 itself, but it doesn't do much other than mix control, sync settings and so on. Within Logic I've tried the i/o plugin, either on the channel itself or on a aux bus. I've also tried setting the output of the channel to output 5 and creating an audio track with input 8. Same result. I'm beginning to suspect that the solution's in the Audient Mixer app. It has a cue mix system for headphone mixes, alternative mixes etc. If I find a solution, naturally I'll post it here for future reference. Thx for your replies. N
  3. I've seen this problem on the forums before, and on the net in general, but it was never completely addressed here and I can't find a satisfactory reply elsewhere, so apologies for the repeated topic. When using the i/o plugin to inject an external effect processor into Logic, I get terrible feedback. My audio interface is an EVO 16 from Audient, and the effect is an Eventide H9. I've tried everything I can possibly think of: software monitoring on/off, changing inputs and outputs, mix settings in the effects processor, digital clock settings, rebooting the mac, having a coffee, meditating, but nothing works. It should. I know I've used this function before, but not since 10.5 (I think !). All I can get is extremely loud feedback. The Eventide on its own works fine. Any thoughts ? Many thanks. N
  4. Thanks so much for replying ! Turns out it was in Application Support/Zenology and not Application Support/Roland. Don't know why I didn't see it earlier. It's always the way. As soon as I ask for help, a solution pops up.🙂
  5. Disclaimer, forgive me, not strictly a Logic Pro question. I installed the Roland Zenology Free plugin a while ago to try it out when I bought a Roland TR-8S drum machine. All went well while using it, but now I want to uninstall it. And in spite of all my best efforts (erasing components, erasing preferences , searching and erasing application support files, etc, etc, etc) I cannot get rid of it in the list of Audio Units. I can't even "remove" it in the plug-in manager. Roland has been rather unhelpful. If anyone out there has an idea and can help, I would really appreciate it. Driving me nuts. Thx N.
  6. Is there any way to see how much memory LP's sampler is using ? It's for comparison purposes (e.g. a factory Marimba in LP Sampler compared to a Kontakt stock marimba) Thx N
  7. I actually went back to a screen shot I had taken when I set up the Arturia a couple of years ago - something I would recommend to all - and simply typed in the values shown in the photo. This setup the physical faders on the keyboard to control the channel faders in LP. Curiously, and don't ask me how, this also got rid of the gremlin in the mod wheel. It now sends CC#1 as it should. Could it have been some sort of corrupted cache file ? The pitch bend wheel worked perfectly, but I don't use it that often. The mod wheel controls expression and instrument volume so it gets much more attention…
  8. Arturia Keylab 88 Essential with LP10.7.4 - the mod wheel seems to send a "stop" message instead of CC#1 I've deleted any controller surfaces in the LP Setup, I've factory reset the Arturia pos, I cannot get this working again. I don't think it's the LP session, the same behaviour occurs with a fresh session. Any thoughts ? Thx N
  9. Yes and No…I don't know why but it was saving samples on an external drive and Logic wasn't finding them. Thx !
  10. I've set up an auto sampler in 10.7.2 and everything goes as expected. Until I load the newly created Sampler Instrument and discover that there are no samples, just keymaps, correctly named, velocity and all, just no samples... Any Thoughts ?
  11. Compared to BigSur which gave me quite a few headaches (graphics, sluggishness…) Monterey has been a joy to use so far. Mac Pro Late 2013, Logic 10.7. As a technical side note I also did a clean install of Monterey - I erased the internal HD, installed the factory copy of OS Sierra (!), then reinstalled Logic and various plugins, then imported preferences and bits and pieces from Time Machine, then finally installed Monterey. I also got rid of plugs that I liked to play with but didn't really use. It was a laborious task, but everything flows now.
  12. I didn't know this , but I think it's an interesting idea and might be worth exploring.
  13. and it's come back again…strange early morning bug
  14. stupendous reply David, thanks as always. Works perfectly. Don't know why preferences change like that between updates ? But on that note: I've noticed that the little red number that appears when editing/moving more than one object in the arrange window has disappeared. It's very useful when edit within a large session - it reminds me that I'm moving or changing the length of something I can't see off-screen. Is this a preference thing again ? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated ! N
  15. I've noticed that it's now impossible to color individual regions in Lp 10.7, only tracks. I've mentioned this to Apple, hope they'll take notice ! (very handy to be able to color sections of larger cues for bouncing or exporting)
