  1. Thanks david ive gone in there and taken a look but theres no option to change colour as even tho it shows my mpk 249 on the right hand side the device section on the left says there are no devices. When i select scan it gives me a list but i cant add the mpk 249 again the only ones it seem to add are the ones that have a module listed in the right hand column. Ill see if i can put the pics up to show you what i mean. Also thanks for the help
  2. actually david ive been working all day and only getting round to this now and just found that control surface bars is already checked. anything else you think it could be?
  3. Thanks david much appreciated. I actually looked in through there i must have missed that or just didnt tie it to what i was looking
  4. hi, after reading a previous thread on here i managed to get my mpk 249 to change banks in logic however everything guide i look at the people seem to have a blue bar in their mixer under the selected bank which would obviously make it a lot easier to know what bank i am currently controlling. can anybody tell me if/how i can do this? i am running logic pro x v 10.4.1 thanks in advance
  5. in case you were wondering why i was thinking the way i was this is the official tutorial video. if you look 2 mins in you will see
  6. cheers guys i got it sorted. i needed to set the instrument up as a multi output instrument then when you go onto the instrument channel on the mixer screen theres a plus symbol you hit to add the channels for each pad and put your midi on each one. i used to be on cubase and the routing situation is totally different and i had never actually encountered multi output instrument since i started out a couple of years ago. learn something new every day lol
  7. hi, im trying to set up vengeance plugins phalanx sampler to run on logic and in one of the tutorials it shows that you are meant to set up each different pad in the sampler to a different midi channel and create a corresponding midi track in your daw so each sample can be played from a different channel using a different midi clip. ie kick on midi 1, clap on midi 2 etc but the example they show is on cubase and after messing around on logic for 4 hrs ive no clue how to do this or even what type of track to set up. i dont see how to set up an external midi track just external which ive used before to route my tb3. i would really appreciate some help on this as ive spent half the day reading and looking at videos all of which have turned out to be irrelevant to what im trying to do lol. thanks in advance
  8. already read that david but as i said i know i can adjust it down that way i want it set up so i dont have to. lagerfeldt that was spot on thanks saving as default fixed it. always the simplest things that you dont think of lol anyway cheers guys
  9. ok so when i first started using logic when i performed a high or low cut in the channel eq plugin id get a straight looking curve at the bottom by default and somehow it changed to when i do one now it flares out at the bottom by default. i can fix this by disabling the analyzer and dragging down on the scale at the left hand side of the eq then re-enabling analyzer however this is a pain to have to do this every time i open a new channel eq. does anybody know why this is and how i can change it so the default curve is the straight looking one instead of the flared looking one? maybe its only aesthetic i dunno but its annoying me lol
  10. ok so after a couple of hours experimenting i have figured it out. i deleted all the vsts and plugins first and still have the issue so after deleting sections one at a time and timing how long it took to perform the process i eventually noticed deleting my percussion track stack took massive amounts of time off the copying process. then it dawned on me i had about 20 percussion tracks all heavily chopped up into individual hits so by the time the project was 4 mins long that was literally thousands and thousands of individual audio files just in the percussion section. so i glued them all into sections and it was faster but still not immediate. i then unhid all the hidden tracks and glued all those percussions sections etc that were in tiny pieces that i had bounced and hidden and hey presto all my tracks copy immediately now. only thing i cant understand is the hidden tracks that i had bounced down and hidden were actually turned off (not muted but off) yet they were clearly still having an impact on this process. anyway hope this helps somebody else and cheers for your input
  11. sorry only getting back now. im just about to duplicate the project then start stripping bits out and see if i can figure it out. if i do i will post back in case anybody else finds this with the same issue
  12. nah no joy with reducing the undo steps either. i searched online earlier and others have had the same issue ive just not been able to find an answer as to why yet
  13. cheers i'll go try that now. i had just lowered the buffer sizer back to 128 as i had raised it away up before but its still doing it. ill try the undo steps thing now. thanks again
