  1. May I ask what your personal workflow is? What kind workflow do you use for post audio work that requires frame-accurate dialog placement/replacement? What would you ask of a client?
  2. Yes. That is the only way I would do it, because I want to steer clear of dealing with FCP and remain in Logic. Not possible unless I manually sync, I am guessing... Should I request the files differently? Should I avoid BITC?
  3. I really appreciate that. One more question: How does one go about syncing this with the timecode printed on a Quicktime file?
  4. I want to open a new portion of my business, syncing dialog to video as an ADR outfit, doing occasional foley, etc. I want an external clock that reads the SMPTE timecode in beg red leds that can be seen across a control room. I know there is one built into Logic but I want to be able to face it away from my computer screen. What devices are necessary to do this? Do I have to convert smpte->mtc somehow? Is anyone controlling timecode across televisions and external clocks? If so, please teach me...
  5. Thank you. For archival reasons: Page 565 of the manual.
  6. For some reason, the group numbers are grey, ineffective, and I cannot figure out if there is an option to turn group functionality off. Is that what I did? Usually they are yellow. I have never not been able to select them (..sorry for that double negative). Here is a pic:
  7. Perhaps they should make the default size of a marker 4 bars, and then you can re-size however you want.
  8. With nothing but love for Logic, I have to say this: Re-sizing a marker should only take one action, like re-sizing a region. Your help is appreciated...
  9. How do I limit the length of my markers? Somehow I did it before, but I cannot remember. Whenever I create a marker now it runs off the screen, so I can never grab the right side to resize it. Annoying. Thanks for any help.
  10. But its got cool moving needles... Thanks Kent.
  11. Also, the multimeter only works on the output, right? I want the VU meter to be on every channel.
  12. It is aesthetic, I admit. All I need to do is see when I am peaking, so it doesn't even matter if the PSP VU meter is milliseconds behind or something.
  13. I really want to use the PSP VU meters for tracking in Logic, but I cannot find anything except a VST version on the PSP site. Is anyone running these in the most updated version of Logic? Thanks for any help...
  14. With your Mac Pro, you should have all the processing power you need. I have taken a more minimalist approach to mixing lately, and the only 3rd party plugins I use are from IK Multimedia, FXpansion, and PSP. Occasionally, I will get overloads, but since switching to Logic's native plugins for a number of tasks, I have avoided overloads for the most part. The problem is in Logic's relationship with 3rd party plugins.
