  1. Select a software instrument track (what instrument doesn’t matter) and record a few bars while moving the sliders. Don’t play any notes! Open up the event editor and it will show you what CCs it sends. I’m pretty sure it will be CC 7 and CC 10. Then let us know if this is what you are seeing, post a sceenshot.
  2. Modulation is CC1. What you did is MIDI Learn whatever CC the unit is sending from that fader to the Modulation parameter of your plugin. However it seems that your unit is sending CC7 (volume) and CC10 (pan) which gets intercepted by the channel strip even as they are mapped to parameters in the plugin. List of MIDI CCs here (not all manufacturers honor these assignments, however)
  3. Looked up that controller and it appears it’s made by hand by a small shop in Malta. I googled for “Dash XP" but found nothing except sunglasses 😉 and the text at Etsy simply states it’s “plug and play” but doesn’t explain what messages it can send. Did it come with any instructions?
  4. Also check to see if your controller allows assigning what CCs it sends (most do). Then just assign them to the CCs you want. Mod wheel CC1 and expression pedal CC 11 are what most sample libraries use.
  5. Channel Pressure = regular aftertouch (this is what I see in your screenshot) Key Pressure = polyphonic aftertouch MPE is not the same thing as poly AT. It puts each note on a different MIDI channel, where poly AT has all notes on the same channel.
  6. Here's the link to older Nektarine documentation (v2.5.83 from March 2023, my account shows the latest is 2.5.99, your Beta is probably newer than that as well) that you can look at. It shows how the software works with the Nektar keyboard controllers so it will not cover how it might work with the CS12 but it might help you get up to speed on the basic concepts of how it handles instruments.
  7. If the other person can read music notation, try using the score editor to print out what you have played.
  8. I went to create my first song with Suno and got an error message that due to high usage only paid subscribers can currently generate songs. Strike one...
  9. The 4 input ports are normal. Each corresponds to the mode of the same name on the device itself.
  10. Are you somehow playing them directly from OneDrive or loading them from OneDrive into an app like you do on the Windows PC?
  11. A PSR E323 is an older Yamaha “home keyboard”. It is not a control surface. The data list which specifies the MIDI capabilities is available here. It can only send a few MIDI CCs, here is the list…X means it cannot transmit those CCs. 0 and 32 is patch bank select, 7 is MIDI volume, 10 is pan, 64 is sustain pedal, 72 is amp decay, 91 is reverb depth and 93 is chorus depth. It’s unlikely that Smart Controls would be mapped to those CCs by default. To be sending those CCs (or any other data) all the time suggests that the onboard accompaniment section is running.
  12. Velanche, I actually opened two support tickets about this, most recently about 6 months ago. I emailed marketing directly today. It’s good to know that someone has gotten some emails. Sorry about going OT here, folks.
  13. That's interesting because Nektar has never sent me an email about updates even though I have been subscribed to their email list for over 6 years. Velanche, When I asked support about the email list, I was told that no emails have ever been sent to the list. Tim can probably confirm this. My guess is David got directly mailed by support. I just go to the Nektar website every few months and check for updates. Reminds me I’m overdue to check 😉
  14. In your screenshot I see you are opening up External Instrument with the User Default. Try changing the port to the Montage then save that as the User Default. See if that works...
  15. Which version of Logic and what kind of Mac?
