  1. Are you somehow playing them directly from OneDrive or loading them from OneDrive into an app like you do on the Windows PC?
  2. A PSR E323 is an older Yamaha “home keyboard”. It is not a control surface. The data list which specifies the MIDI capabilities is available here. It can only send a few MIDI CCs, here is the list…X means it cannot transmit those CCs. 0 and 32 is patch bank select, 7 is MIDI volume, 10 is pan, 64 is sustain pedal, 72 is amp decay, 91 is reverb depth and 93 is chorus depth. It’s unlikely that Smart Controls would be mapped to those CCs by default. To be sending those CCs (or any other data) all the time suggests that the onboard accompaniment section is running.
  3. Velanche, I actually opened two support tickets about this, most recently about 6 months ago. I emailed marketing directly today. It’s good to know that someone has gotten some emails. Sorry about going OT here, folks.
  4. That's interesting because Nektar has never sent me an email about updates even though I have been subscribed to their email list for over 6 years. Velanche, When I asked support about the email list, I was told that no emails have ever been sent to the list. Tim can probably confirm this. My guess is David got directly mailed by support. I just go to the Nektar website every few months and check for updates. Reminds me I’m overdue to check 😉
  5. In your screenshot I see you are opening up External Instrument with the User Default. Try changing the port to the Montage then save that as the User Default. See if that works...
  6. Which version of Logic and what kind of Mac?
  7. If you are seeing MIDI notes in all the editors (Piano Roll, score, event) but not getting any sound out the software instrument, that's a Logic problem, not a Maschine problem. But I don't see any MIDI notes in your Piano Roll? The Mackie Control protocol uses MIDI note messages, so when you press any button that’s assigned in Mackie mode, it can trigger notes. The “Any” port selection is probably what causes this. It is routing Mackie messages to your instruments. I’ve seen this with other controllers I’ve used over the years. I’m surprised that the Machine only shows up as a single port. Most controllers show up as multiple ports, one for notes and one or more for DAW control. My Nektar P6 shows up as four ports. Etc.
  8. Tim, Is the motorized fader in the CS12 different than the one in the P6? I’ve never run into any of the issues people have been reporting.
  9. Lately I’ve been collaborating with a friend who is using 10.8.1 and I'm using 10.7.9. We haven’t used any of the new 10.8 features, I don't even know what they are. We are only using the builtin plugins. Neither of us gets any warnings other than about the audio interface not being the same as when the project was last saved (he has a Tascam and I have a MOTU). I got the messages fuzzfilth mentioned when I was still using 10.5 on an Intel Mac.
  10. Not sure what you mean by “bring all my tracks into Melodyne so I can line up with the drums”. You can use Melodyne as an insert on any audio track. I’ve never seen any reason to try it with software instrument tracks. BTW the plugins in Logic are Audio Units (AU) not VSTs.
  11. I looked at their website and some of the YouTube videos. The ones showing two way communication with Cubase mention a script. I’d contact MP and ask them about whether or not they will be adding a script for Logic.
  12. I don’t mind being his tech support. He always pays me after a session, more than he paid me when I was the bassist in his band 😆
  13. Hmm, I didn’t think of that. I’ll try that when I see him again on Friday. Thanks, David! It’s not my choice to mix through the Tascam, that’s what my friend wants to learn how to do. I think it’s because after decades of gigging he understands using an analog mixer. He’s interested in using it to record gigs to the SD card, too.
  14. I’m back helping a friend do some recording in Logic. His Mac is using 10.8.1 running on Sonoma. His audio interface is a Tascam Model 16 mixer which acts as a 14 in /16 out USB interface. After tracking he wants to mix on the Tascam, using Logic like a tape deck. His current project has only 7 audio tracks, using tracks 1-7 in Logic. When we go to assign the output for each track, we wanted to choose mono outputs 1-7. When selecting Output-Mono we see outputs 3-14 available, but instead of Output 1 and 2 we see “part of stereo out” listed twice at the top of the pulldown list (sorry, no screenshot). We tried using those for tracks 1 and 2 but no audio made it to the Tascam. We reassigned tracks 1 and 2 to outputs 8 and 9 and then audio got through. I’m assuming that since outputs 1 and 2 are not in the pulldown by name, that is why we were not seeing audio into the Tascam’s first two channels. At home, I use a MOTU M2 interface, 4 ins and 2 outs. My own Mac is at 10.7.9 and running on Monterey. When assigning outputs I can choose output 1 and 2 just fine or route any track to stereo out. I do not see “part of stereo out” in the pulldown for mono outputs. Back on my friend’s Mac what settings should we be looking at in Logic that would cause Outputs 1 and 2 to not be listed in the pulldown?
  15. I had the same experience with the Magic Mouse. I finally switched to a Logitech M100 corded 2-button mouse with a detented scroll wheel I got at Staples for $10. No more cursor floating around screwing up waveform cut and paste. I’ve long wondered if it’s a flaw in the Magic Mouse…it didn't act like that when it was brand new.
