Hey Zack, There are some tips in this topic. Have you already tried all of them? In my situation I didn't discover why but What worked for me was change the USB port and restart the mac. Update OS is a good too. Hope this helps but you will find some other options in previous messages 🙂

Hi All, As a one-man-everything (who work from the composition to mix) I'm not an expert and the fact is that my projects are kind of messy. Some of them I began using a template or previous projects that carries some AUX/BUS. Now I have a lot of channels, track stacks, bus and aux... and I'd really love to clean those that are not being used. But I don't know which are they and I'm afraid to delete a used by mistake. Does anyone know if there is a way easier/faster than look one by one? Besides that, does anyone has suggestion of a good video or tutorial talking about recommended workflow in logic? something that helps me to create a method to all new projects. Thanks all 🙂

Microphone recording extremelly low

I tried all ports (rear and front) and use whatever works. Everytime I have the problem (and the problem happened in The front too) I change. -
Microphone recording extremelly low

I always uses the rear ports. i m not sure if I made myself clear once the problem is intermitent. As an example I ll describe what I m doing nowadays. I have ports (rear) A and B. Let’s say that audio interface is connected in Port A. When I turn on the mac the interface will be identified by mac and output sounds are ok, but record is extremelly low. I can t even see the wave form (only after I add 30Db - it appears and still very low). To “solve” that I turn off the mac and change the connection to port B. Doing this, recording will works normally. But if I turn off and turn on again, recording will show the same problem. So I have to disconect the interface from Port B, and reconnect to Port A. it s not so easy as I described because sometimes I have to turn on and off few times until it works. And it s not a problem on one USB port once the same Port that works today, doesn’t works tomorrow I m still lose on how to solve that thanks all -

Hi, sorry. Maybe i express myself badly. The problem happened with the same interface. But now I m sure that interface is working. My set is a Mac Pro (2010) with High Sierra , audio interface Behringer UMC 202HD, the mic is a condenser (Blue Bird SL). And I was recording voice and acoustic guitar. Since yesterday, everytime i turn on the mac, I have to change the USB port. it really seems a USB port issue when I change works..but everytime I turn on the mac the interface does not record (even though It reproduces sounds ok). The problem is obly to record The settings are as expected: phantom power on, etc. I really take a look in all comments and checked Everything. The problem seems to be with USB Port. Not a physicall issue because, eg: i move from port 1 to 2 and works. When i turn on the mac later, is not working. So I move back to port 1 and works again. Really strange. i reboot mac manytimes, but it s always the same issue. -
Hi, I have the same problem here. Even worse. Yesterday testing things I moved my audio interface to other computer and worked. So I discard the problem with interface. I came back to my desktop and connect the interface to a different USB port. Worked. Bur Today, the same problem again. So maybe it s related to any conflict or configuration between OS and Audio Interface. Some of my SW doesn t allow me to upgrade to a new OS so I m still using High Sierra. Not sure if this will solve your problem but try to change USB port and restart your mac. hope it helps.

In the next day (today) the same problem happened. I looked for behringers Audio interface Driver to mac but doesn t exists. I use High Sierra and can not update the OS (incompatibility with plugins and programs that I use). So I m not sure which is the problem but it s something related to the configuration. Does anyone has a tip on this problem? -

Hi All, I had just changed the Audio interface to my laptop and worked. So the problem seems to be on USB port or some desktop configuration. @Sheanot sure if you solved your problem but try to change the USB port. -
Hi All, I opened one topic in january (Help to recording with Condenser mic - linked below). Today I began the recording session. I tried to do all the things suggested but still not working. I saw another topic with the same issue (linked below). Read all suggestions and tried all... still not working. My interface is a Behringer U-Phoria UMC202HD. I really tried and observe everything mentioned (Phantom, Cables, Line/instrm, fades, inputs, different mics, etc). My situation is worse than @ShenA once my graphic shows almost nothing. After I enter in the INFO - track region and add +30db the graph shows a very small wave that seems square. I attach the prtscr that shows this. Any help will be useful. PS: I don't have another audio interface to test. Thanks all @SheaTopic: My previous Topic:

Help to recording with a Condenser mic

Thanks @des99 It seems very reasonable. A simple solution that fits. I will test it later and if works (I hope so) I will be back here to define your answer as solution! 🙂 -
Help to recording with a Condenser mic
Zeh replied to Zeh's topic in Music Production Techniques and Gear
Hi All, Thanks for the help and tips: @tripletsand @olavsu1My Audio interface is a Behringer U-Phoria UMC202 HD (https://www.behringer.com/product.html?modelCode=P0BJZ). I am sure that mic is being used in the right position and I used the gain button too. I suppose that @des99 is right. It is a simple solution that I had never considered before (shame on me). I will try to down the other tracks in the next time. What confuses me is that the wav recorded is really too low... even visual/graphically. I will make new sessions in february and will try what @des99 suggested. Thank you! -
Hi All, I bought a condenser mic to record vocal and acoustic guitar in my homestudio (which is extremely simple). My problem is: The volume is so low that I can't monitor what I'm recording. My audio interface has Phantom Power and I use it. However, even though I set volume and everything to maximum level, I can't hear and the wave recorded is extremely low. After I record I can increase volume (using gain and processing) but I suppose that should have a better way to do it. I way that allows me to monitor and that doesn't interfere in the audio quality. I record everything using my audio interface and don´t have money to buy a pre-amp. I already bought a mic booster (SubZero) which I discovered too late that doesn´t work with condenser mics 😞 Another thing that I tried was to add a compressor plugin (a hard compression), but I'm not sure if this is the best solution and if affects the audio recorded or not... as I remember, I could monitor but the wave recorded was still very low. Any help will be welcome. Thanks,

Hi Valli, The video that you linked is not available anymore. Do you mind to give me some additional information that helps me finding this video? Thanks

Maestro, Really thanks for your time. Your advice is useful but the problem was a silly issue. It was a bit odd. My bandmate was online too and he changed the tempo without telling me almost at the same time I was downloading... So I spent a lot of time researching and looking for solutions... and just after I called him to say that we couldn't use bandlab anymore, he mentioned that he changed the bpm... when I came back to bandlab I confirmed that tempo was changed 😕 REALLY SORRY for make you guys lost time on that. I tried to delete my topic but could not found a way. I report the topic to be excluded but it wasn't yet. Thanks!

Hi guys, I`m working with the vocalist of my project by distance (in different cities). So we are exchanging DRAFT ideas using BandLab (online free DAW). I went to Bandlab and export his voice in audio but when I imported it into LOGIC it opened totally out of tempo. If I align the beginning of first sentence, the second will still be out of tempo as the following. I had to adjust one by one. So I conclude that even though both projects are in 102 bpm, Bandlab export the audio slower than that. I realised that Bandlab is 16 bit audio. Could audio rate be the reason to that? In case yes, does anyone know how could I open 16 bit audio in Logic keeping it in tempo? Maybe it's important to consider that Logic will be my final project, so it would be better if I don´t need to configure all project to 16 bits. Thanks for help.
