  1. Here's what happens for me: As you can see, it only works in an empty area or the upper half of an empty region, otherwise I get the marquee tool. I tried to turn off the options in preferences>general>editing for all of the click zones, and that didn't change anything.
  2. This is nice, but it it only seems to work if you have open space available. Is there anything that works when you're zoomed and regions cover your screen?
  3. Yes, but that doesn't solve my issue of navigating a project while editing, only while mixing or composing.
  4. Is there a way to horizontally scroll (and perhaps zoom) without using the scrollwheel or scrollbars? I'm thinking something like hand panning (like graphical applications) or click-drag time ruler type things. I've recently used another DAW with this functionality and it's amazing how accurate it is.
  5. If you don't see a demos folder, you can access the Demo Project from the main menu window (don't know what it's officially called). Hit "New Project from Template" and you get that window thingy that says "New Project", "Recent Projects" and "Demo Projects". Under Demo Projects you'll see an icon for the Beck track asking you to download it. Download it and you'll be good to go Ah, excellent, thank you. The Beck track is the only demo I see though. I assume that's normal.
  6. Library/Application Support/Logic/Logic Pro X Demosongs Thank you, that's what I thought, but I do not have this folder in either my root (/) or home (~/). I don't see demo songs listed in the sound library either.
  7. I don't appear to have a demos folder. Where is this located normally?
  8. Choose Mix > Autoselect Automation Parameter in Read mode, to disable it. Awesome. Thank you!
  9. There is now an option to switch the first automation lane in a track to show the last clicked control. Does anyone know where that option is located?
  10. OHHHHH. That's excellent. Thank you for mentioning that.
  11. Am I missing something or are the plugin/mixer undo/redo not mapped by default?
  12. Thank you David. Any solution if I already have automation I want to keep? Or other ways to add automation subtracks without browsing giant menus?
  13. Today I needed to manually edit some transitions on an instrument. There were about 25 parameters involved. I added automation tracks by using the menu in the automation mode, then option-clicking the arrow to show all subtracks. This took me a while, especially since the instrument had 100s of parameters to browse through. I thought of a potential workaround by putting the track in write/latch mode and writing data to all the parameters, but then I'm left having to delete automation from every track. I've been unable to figure out how to select automation data across tracks/regions. Is there an easier way to add automation subtracks for specific parameters without browsing menus or the write method I described? I've scoured the manual and came up with nothing.
  14. In Logic, track and channelstrip are different/disctinct objects/entities, which become linked when one is assigned to the other. AFAIK, the group feature pertain to the channelstrip domain (which pertain to the mixer). Hence, I might be wrong but I don't think there is a way (yet) to proceed without going into the mixer... I see. Is there a good place to read about this difference between tracks and channel strips? I don't recall that being specified in the manual, but perhaps I missed it.
  15. 10.3.3. Same behaviour here, but my question was how to do this without opening the mixer. Selecting tracks in the arranger area seems to not work unless I'm missing something.
