  1. What if you need to send a specific midi channel to a specific channel strip but from the same controller? My controller has drum pads that transmit only to channel 10. The keyboard transmits on channel 1. How can I have a patch say with bass and a drum kit in which the drum kit only responds to the messages coming from the drum pads on channel 10 and ignores the notes from the keyboard on channel 1?
  2. I do not! That was the trick; however, I now have the preferences set in MainStage's Midi Preferences to Program Change values 0-127, rather than 1 to 128, so they now match my akai's output.
  3. This seems so silly but I just cannot get it to work... I'm just learning MainStage but am a long-time Logic user so I've intentionally kept the Concert setup simple. I have 2 patches set up inside a set and assigned each a unique program change number. (In the patch explorer, the program change check box is selected, the bank set is not, and each patch has a unique number. I have tried this with and without the bank select box checked. It makes no difference) My concert is set up to receive program changes from ALL, channels 1-16. I am sending the program change from an Akai MPK249. When I send the program change, the midi monitor displays "# 1 0 2," (I don't know what the 0 is... could this be the problem?) and in the assignments and mapping screen I show midi activity on a row under "Channel 1-16" with columns reading "Unassigned, (blank), Concert Name->All Channel Strips." I have not checked the box that says "Send Unused Program Changes to Channel Strips." This seems like such a basic function, I cannot imagine what I am doing wrong. Surely every program change command doesn't need to be mapped to a graphical button? (That's the only thing I can think I haven't tried but it must be right in front of my face!) Thanks!
