Thanks David - well that's progress.
What are the steps you took to reproduce it, as I can't reproduce it here on 10.3.3..?
Edit: Ok, I've found *one* control here on the compressor (release) that toggles the solo on/off for the channel.
It's very control dependent, so unless you try everything, it's easy to miss as many of them behave normally - this is why is wasn't seeing anything as I randomly grabbed various controls on plugins on the 15th slot. Unlike the video, this only happens here on one compressor control (but this might be dependent on other things, who knows...?)
But I guess we have confirmation of this behaviour now...
I guess options for the OP are:
- Don't use the 15th slot
- Downgrade to a version that doesn't do this
- Upgrade to Sierra & 10.4.4 or High Sierra & 10.4.6
Here's the reproducible steps (with these, it would have been trivial to reproduce and confirm the issue):
- Open Logic 10.3.3 with a default project
- Select an audio track.
- Insert 14 plugins on that track (Gainer plugin will do)
- Insert a Compressor as the 15th plugin
- Switch to a compressor model which has the release control available
- Move the release control, and see that the channel "Solo" switches on and off, as you move the release control between extremes
Notes: Other plugins on the 15th slot may well have different controls that have different effects on the mixer.
Again, there is a full video for you to watch to reproduce the steps. I don’t understand how you confidently came to any conclusion, let alone post any findings without, at the very least, watching the video. There is no reason why this bug should exist in a professional work station.
I’m still on 10.3.3 because I still use Pro tools 11. I will have to figure out a solution.
Yes other plugins have different controls. Scroll up. I highlighted that in an earlier post.
