  1. Hi, I've just updated my version of Logic to the most recent version from 10.5.7, and when I select a track it won't auto record enable the software instrument tracks and I don't know how to switch it back on! If I am playing a patch and then want to select another, it keeps the previously selected track going and I have to unclick it and manually select the track I'm on. Isn't it supposed to auto select by default? Help!
  2. Hi everyone, I’ve noticed a bug in the new version ( a few actually) but the one that’s really causing problems is Logic keeps forgetting my audio interface and loading ‘capture inactive’ or ‘DisplayPort’ as the input source. I don’t think this is a problem with my interface as this never happened in any versions pre-10.5. I’ve just lost two vocal takes because half way through the audio preferences changed the input source to capture inactive! This is so frustrating, could anyone tell me how to either delete capture inactive as an input source (thought that may render capture recording as null) or permanently set my interface as the only in and out? Hoping someone can help!
  3. Hi everyone, I am very much liking the update to 10.5, but I think I've found a bug.... I'm doing some vocal recording for my wife at home for her work but whenever I import the patch we used from previous projects, it renders the record and playback buttons useless! It won't start and just refuses to do anything! It's possible that I'm overlooking something but I'm sure it's a bug, it hasn't happened before and it would be quite the coincidence. I wasn't even a big patch, just a gain plug-in, a compressor and a bus that had NI's RC24 on it. It could be the RC24 but I wouldn't know why it would cause the playback to stop working. Please help! Ryan
  4. Thanks David, so if I want different quantisation for the part at different times should split them into regions? Thanks Ryan
  5. Hi, This has probably been answered elsewhere, but how can I make adjustments in the score editor like timing of notes without it changing the MIDI note itself? For example the note starts before the beat in performance, but in the score I want it to start on the beat? In both the user guide and in other sources it says that changing the note's timing in the score won't affect the position in terms of MIDI, but when I try with both MIDI link on or off it still changes the note. Thanks Ryan
  6. Hi, Recently whenever I bounce a project it's adding an extra minute of silence at the end even though there are no more regions! What am I doing wrong?
  7. Hi everyone, I wanted to know if there was a quick way to colour tracks/regions vertically in a rainbow colour (i.e. from bright to dark) by selecting all then using a command, rather than selecting every single track and then choosing the colour? I really like my logic projects to look pretty but can't be bothered to select each track when I'm recording/writing! Always grateful for the help provided in this community! Ryan
  8. Ah I see, damn you Logic and your preset rules! Thanks for your help David
  9. Hmm, doesn't want to add it to any files that I create though I have saved the preset in that project. So preset saved in project 1 should save that preset for use in all future projects?
  10. That's great thank you! One last question though, how do you save it as a preset? I can't seem to find that option on that transform window, it asks if I want to create a new parameter set but gives me no option to save it globally for future files. Thanks Ryan
  11. Hi, I often import midi files that have a bunch of automation including volume that I want to delete in the list editor, but i can only figure out how to delete the cc7 for each track one at a time as there doesn't seem to be a way of selecting it for all the tracks at once. I only want to delete the volume, not expression pan or anything else, and these midi messages only seem to be in the list editor and not the track view. How can I get rid of all cc7 messages in one fell swoop rather than clicking each track one by one? Sometimes there are 20 plus tracks in these midi files! Thanks in advance Ryan
  12. Sorry but I should have been more clear with the question, I want to know how to change the default length of the notes inputted by the keyboard, I know how to edit the notes after they are inputted. Sorry for the confusion in the initial question
  13. Hi, thanks for responding. I’ve tried that but when I enter the next note with the keyboard it ignores the drag that I applied to the note before it
