  1. I wish Logic had a system wide browser for it's samples. Such a shame you have to use a 3rd party manager and link it to Logic's sample content to be able to search it.
  2. Personally I think it’s quantity over quality. I’d prefer a small selection of unique presets with little overlap, that are musical in every performance snapshot. Every update, more presets get added that sound the same and take up space on my machine. So far I have 3000 presets on my machine. I will never listen to them all. I’m not saying Alchemy is bad, it’s the opposite. It’s excellent for what it does. But the Alchemy team could use their time better than creating more presets.
  3. preset time - 1/4 note, 1/8 notes etc.
  4. I have a cluster on notes stacked in a midi region. I would like the instrument to randomly choose a note out of the cluster, either by a preset time (whole notes) or by repeating the midi in the piano roll. Is there a way to do this in Logic (possibly in the midi fx)? Similar to having a random sequencer quantised to a set of pitches triggering various voices in a modular.
  5. I had to adjust the position so that it would find find the EXACT midi I wanted to add the rel. crescendo too. It wasn't enough that I had selected it, similar to the humanise function.
  6. I tried this and it didn't seem to create a crescendo. Just bring the velocity up. Got it working!
  7. Before updating, pressing enter would move the playhead back to the beginning of the project as well as the arrangement. Now it seems to only move the playhead. and my arrangement view stays where it is. Is this the case for you? Can it be changed?
  8. Try this and see if it achieves what you are looking for, 1. right click (option-click) region 2. navigate to convert - convert to midi region. Now you can access all the midi region for the drum kit (within one region). If you want to mix the individual drums, you can set the instrument to multi-output and then add the busses in the mixer using the + symbol, or select a producer kit (the better option).
  9. No issues. It should be absolutely fine in theory (I am no expert). It's an expensive unit and has excellent D-A conversion. Latency occurs when audio is converted from analog to digital and then back from digital to analog. You are only converting once. To be honest, latency is really only a problem when tracking. If you are recording a guitar and the audio you hear is later than the moment you played, it will throw off the performance. Furthermore, the Sennheiser website says that it is compatible will ASIO which means they have written drivers for Windows (and is already compliant with Mac). Many people, including myself, mix at high buffer settings with high latency (to save cpu), as it is not noticeable during playback, at least to my ears. I track at low buffer settings without cpu intensive plugins (usually a guitar sim). Even so, my latency isn't RME low due to the age of my computer. You should be fine. Use what you have, upgrade when you have outgrown it. If it doesn't work, buy an interface.
  10. Check out a vertical mouse, they put your hand in a natural handshake position.
  11. Ok so i think it's a misunderstanding on my part. If I've trimmed the beginning of my audio region from bar 1 to 5, the empty space in between bars 1 & 5 will still be bounced out in the file. I thought the region would need to being at bar, with silence until bar 5 to be included in the export.
  12. He's talking about merging the 2 created regions when you cut something out between them, but the space is represented in the new merged region. It's useful when want to consolidate 4000 regions in one track to reduce clutter. I've cut the beginning of the file, so there is no region to the right - [cut] - region to the left to merge between. I have [cut] - remainder of region to the right.
  13. I don't want to keep the audio that I cut out, but I want to file to start and end at the original point.
  14. How do I delete parts of an audio file, but maintain silence in that area of the file so that the track length is not affected and it can still be synced to video and further edited later on?
