Thanks for the book, I'm getting a lot out of it. I try to spend an hour a day with it. When I got to chapter 5, I had to take this MIDI keyboard detour, but I think I've got it under control. Today I plugged in my MM8 after Mac started and Logic started. No sound from keyboard. Quit and restarted Logic, Still nothing. Restarted Mac with MIDI keyboard on and plugged in. That did the trick, but I did not expect that. Does that make sense? While I was working through this, I did not know I needed to restart the computer with certain changes.
Anyway, in chapter 5, in the part where you described how to map software midi controls back to the hardware, you said, push learn and then turn any knob on the keyboard. Well, I don't think I'd have thought of the controls beyond the modulator and pitch bender. Another lightbulb, thanks!
