  1. Thanks, Jakob. Can you explain why I am hearing the audio considerably sooner/premature than where the waveform is when the I/O plugin is inserted on the channel, then? I'm hearing the sound almost two beats too early.
  2. Hey Jakob, I am not sure I understand your point (I'm a bit new to this, so please bear with me ) but from what I've seen, once one clicks "ping," the SAM number in the I/O plugin either increases or decreases to compensate for latency. Mine remains at zero, and there is still a ton of latency, which makes me think it is not working. Any ideas? Thanks, mate.
  3. Sorry, I should have clarified. Both -- I am doing this on both audio and software instrument channels, but the result is the same in terms of the ping not working.
  4. Thanks for the reply. I am sending the audio/midi to external gear (Korg Kaoss Pad 2), which I have selected on the ins/outs of the I/O on the audio/midi channel. My understanding is that when I hit "ping," it sends a signal through the interface to the external gear, but I could be missing something. Does that sound right? Is there a better approach?
  5. Hi there, When I add an I/O instance onto an audio/midi track and click "ping" to account for latency, the number stays at "0 sam." I do hear an audible pop from my interface when I click "ping," and the lights on the interfaces' output display light up, making me think the interface is getting the signal from Logic X. As you might imagine, the latency is still really bad and I often have to adjust the audio/midi information manually, which is not ideal. Do you have any idea what's going on or a way that I might address the issue? Thanks so much! I am running Logic X (10.6) and my interface is an Apollo x8 (not sure if that is relevant, but thought I'd include it). - Lars
  6. Thanks, David. I will be cognizant of that next time. - Lars
  7. Hey Attlas, Thanks for your reply. I'll try switching to region-based and see if there is any difference, One thing I found was that when I dragged the track out of the track stack (summing), it stopped having the weird automation changes that I showed in the pictures. Do you have any thoughts on that? Thanks again. - Lars
  8. Hi there, I am having issues with moving automation with my regions. (To be clear, I have "always" selected in terms of "Move Track Automation with Regions.") I've included a couple of photos to show these issues. I'm on Logic X. Any help you be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much in advance. In the shot titled "repro pad_1," you can see a consistent line of volume automation. When I move the region to the right, however, the volume spikes to 0.0db partway through the region (see photo "repro pad_2"). I simply dragged the region to the right -- I didn't option-drag it. What might cause this? In the "synth automation" shot, I am having the opposite problem, where when I do option-drag something, the exiting automation does not come along with the region. In the "synth automation" picture, I've tried option-dragging the region on the left to the right, but as you can see, the purple automation did not copy to the new region. (If you look closely, there is a yellow spike to 0.0db in the background on the clip on the right, which is consistent with what I described above). Why is this automation not copying? Both of these examples are from the same project with the same settings, but I've had these issues in many of my Logic X projects. Thank again for the help! - Lars repro pad_1.pdf repro pad_2.pdf synth automation.pdf
  9. Hi David, The volume spike happened again so I took some pictures of it. In Pic 1, you can see that there is no voume automation to the two four-bar snare clips. Pic 2 is after I option-dragged those two four-bar clips. When I option-drag those eight bars (two four-bar sections), there is a vertical volume dip at the beginning of the first four-bar clip and a huge spike at the beginning of the second four-bar clip, going from -13.7 db (where all of the preceeding volume is) all the up to 0 db. What do you think is causing this? Thanks so much. -- Lars Pic 1.pdf Pic 2.pdf
  10. Hi David, Certainly. When it comes up again I'll take a couple of shots. Thanks.
  11. Hi David, There was an automation lane active but no changes in it (i.e. the region started at -8.0 and ended at -8.0). My preference is set to always move track automation with regions, yes. - Lars
  12. Hi there, Sometimes when I use Option-Drag to copy and move a region, the volume automation of the new region will spike up to 0.0dB (really tiny verticle line or longer upwards automation curves, depending). Does anyone know/have experience with this? Is there a setting I should change? Thanks so much! - Lars
  13. That solved it -- thanks so much for the help. I appreciate it.
  14. Hi there, When I go to Automation Preferences > Automation Quick Access > Learn Message to assign a new control on my MIDI keyboard, whatever I select (cutoff filter, resonance, etc. of the soft synth that I want to automate) only automates the track's volume, and NOT the parameter I selected. It didn't use to be like this -- it used to work, so I am thinking that maybe I selected something on accident that is causing this. Does anyone know what to do / have any advice? It's becoming an issue. Thanks so much! I really appreciate it, and if the question is confusing, please let me know. - Lars
  15. Hi there, I am having two issues with the Loop Browser in Logic Pro X: 1. Is there a way to change the preview volume to permanently green/on? The only way I am able to preview a loop is by clicking on it and I would like to be able to preview by using the arrow keys. 2. There is no option to delete a folder in my Untagged Loops section. I've seen in a tutorial that a right-click will bring up that option, but when I right-click, the "delete" option is not there. Is there a setting that I need to change? Thanks so much for the help! - Lars
