  1. Same issue here. Very annoying. Does anybody have a solution?

    Alchemy

You have to initialize preset first (Under Alchemy menu "file/initialize preset")
  3. I mean similar functionality was there before LPX
  4. Smart controls (macro knobs) for example
  5. A lot of cool "new" features in LPX are just a UI externalization for something from the Environment.
  6. I fear they will just add some random wrapped EXS instrument. Like mellotron or something like that.
  7. My guess is we'll get 10.5 soon, but it'll be a maintenance update. But closer towards the end of the year we'll see a totally new version of Logic
  8. From what we know, it looks like we are approaching the next BIG version of Logic. Let's summarize. Two years ago Apple decided to turn around to pro community, because of the huge wave of (deserved) criticism. They gathered that "Pro workflow team" of pros and big names of creative industry (i think David Earl is a part of that team). Their intention was to make a computer pros need and to improve the software. Now we see the first result of their work, a computer. And it's what most of us want, an improved Cheese grater. I can't believe that the result of two years work of Pro workflow team in software domain is increased track count in Logic. They skipped winter NAMM. They must be concentraiting their efforts. They certainly have something new, but we'll see it right before or after MacPro release.
  9. Apart from track count bump, i'm very curious what the new features will be included?..
  10. Not in the UK https://www.apple.com/uk/logic-pro/specs/
  11. Depends on what synth types you use. If you use mostly soft synths and effects, then go for a powerful processor. From my experience 1 core speed is what matters most when you use a lot of processing on single channel, thus i've chosen 6 core i7 8086k (4,3-5 GHZ single core speed)- and it works perfectly well for me. And by the way i work in 96 kHz. If you plan to use mainly samples and samplers with huge libraries (ie Kontakt), then go for RAM in the first place. From my own experience - 16 Gb of RAM is almost overkill, i never need more, though i use Kontakt libraries in every project (2-4 instances). My projects contain in general about 40 tracks. I use a lot of soft synths and lots of processing.
  12. Yes, that's what i mean. S1 often crashes on mac os and the GUI is more sluggish. On Windows S1 is absolutely smooth and stable.
  13. On the topic. After 10 years on the Mac and Logic i had to move on to Windows after my iMac's graphics card died. Windows is surprisingly good nowadays. And Studio One runs so much better on it. And S1 becomes so good that i'm mixing exclusively in it. It's ARA implementation is really incredible. Now that 4.5 is out Alchemy and some nostalgia perhaps seem to be the only things making me hold on to Logic for producing. I hope that Logic team is preparing something really outstanding for the next release, considering they had missed their scheduled one in January. May be we'll see 11 (or whatever they call it) soon, who knows
  14. Totally agree! That's what Logic's selection based processing should look like!
