  1. HI. Ive had a problem with Logic Pro x twice recently where audio tracks I recorded suddenly become a different tempo than I recorded them. Being I dont know how to fix it I generally restart the recording and hope for the best. Which, as you can imagine, is an incredibly frustrating waste of time. I'd love to tell you the exact sequence of events that lead up to the error but it hasnt happened enough for me to be 100%. Generally, I record, listen back and everything is in time. Then I come back later to listen and its this chaotic mess because of the different tempos. I need to start hitting save more often because when I revert its just this same version messy version. Ive included a screenshot of the sound waves in the main window. You can see drums are a midi track that are the correct tempo of 107 but the guitar and bass have shifted to a slower tempo of 99. (For the skeptics, yes, they were both locked at 107 at time of recording.) Also a screen shot of the control bar in case antything can be gleaned from that. Please let me know any questions because I dont understand whats happening at all, how to accurately describe it or begin to look for a solution. Thanks for the help everyone.
  2. Awesome! Good answer! That worked. Can you tell me why some tracks worked and some didn't? Also, why was it checked to begin with? Should I only uncheck it while using Varispeed or leave it unchecked always? I've recorded hundreds and hundreds of tracks and only now does it seem to be a problem. How will I have to do things differently with that box unchecked? Mostly thanks for your help. I appreciate it.
  3. Hi. Having problems with Varispeed. Its working on some tracks but not others. All tracks were recorded with same gear, using the same setting and inputs. When I activate Varispeed I get 3 tracks to speed up and 3 produce no audio. The 3 tracks that work were a problem initially. Got some slight crackling. Cutting in and out. But then randomly started to work. I read that having input monitoring deselected helps. That worked but that seems seriously hacky for a piece of software apple owns and produces. Flextime isnt enabled if that matters. Just trying to use speed only. Have closed and relaunched Logic several times. Screenshot is of what I'm looking at. Logic Pro 10.5 Macbook pro running 10.15.4 Focusrite clarett 3.5
  4. Did you figure this out? Having exactly the same problem.
  5. Hi. Just bought a Coleman M3PHmkii. I've been using the m patch 2 monitor controller that had RCA ins so was connecting a quarter-inch cable from the headphone jack of my MacBook. Then the RCA Y-ends into the controller. Sound came out of speakers. Life went easy. Now, however, the Coleman only has xlr ins. I see there's 1/8 inch cable to y male xlr that I assume would work but not sure if thats the best way to do this. I'm also using a Focusrite Clarett which has quarter-inch outs I could ostensibly use to connect the unit. Before I order a bunch of new adapters and new cables does anyone have a recommendation about the best way to do this? Thanks in advance.
  6. Awesome! Thanks for the info David.
  7. Thanks Paulcristo. You're on the money. However, because I'm still wet behind the ears with engineering I didnt know exactly how to do that or even find to setup the output of the tracks to the FX bus. For anyone out there like myself its under the stereo tab in the channel strip. For more fun you can't just click it. You have to hold and click it. Then choose bus and you won't get any of the dry signal. (I'm sure theres a term for that.) If you plan on using multiple tracks with the same patch logic will set it up for you. Just set the output to bus when you create the new tracks.
  8. Hi all. Just getting started with Logic Pro and running into CPU issues that are putting a bit of a rain cloud over my audio adventures. I'm running 4 guitar tracks using the same patch. Boutique tweed. It has a noise gate, pedalboard utilizing a few different pedals, an amp, channel eq and a compressor. Can I put all those plugins onto 1 bus and then send the tracks through the bus to achieve "Boutique Tweed" sound? This would remove quite a few plugins overall. If someone could walk me through this it would be very much appreciated. I have tried to do this a number of times but a/b ing between the authentic patch and my bus its not quite right. The biggest problem with my bus attempts is I can hear the now dry signal mixed with the effects on the bus. Be glad to add any other info. Thanks Jeff
