  1. Hi, That's good to know. I will check into it. I really wish there was an onboard Logic tool that would accomplish this, but it's looking more and more like a third party solution is the way to go for me. I was just sitting here still working on Sampler. Suddenly the samples don't sound when you test it w a Midi region on the timeline. Just way too much troubleshooting to deal with. Thanks for the tip.
  2. As far as I know, the Sampler is the best way to make a Round Robin Drum Kit from third party samples. I find the workflow tedious. For example, you have to create a Group for every sample. Then rename every group. Multiply this over 60 or more samples and you're spending significant amounts of time. I think this is because the Sampler is designed for other types of instruments. It would be great to have a dedicated Mode for the Sampler that accommodates Drums, or a dedicated Round Robin Sampler. (toss all your samples in, set up the details on a single page, cut out all unnecessary steps). What do you guys and gals think? Is anyone using a third party solution for this? If so, what's it called?
  3. Hi, thanks for the suggestion. But I don't do anything on clouds. It's all local. Yes, good thought. I don't remember ever changing the default action. It is set to "Start Up Action: Ask".
  4. Not all the time. I'm in Rosetta mode. I don't think this happened before I toggled Rosetta on. Happens when I'm opening a project from within Logic, or when I double click a project in the Finder. Any ideas? PS, The only template list I use is "My Templates", so another way of describing the problem is that when I open a project, sometimes the "Open From Template" option is activated, though not by me.
  5. Hi, is it possible to set a default "shape" or curve for automation. I use the select tool and drag down. But I don't like to leave those hard drops in volume (90 degree angles), so I take the time to drag the left and right points in order to make a small fade. See screenshot. Is there a way to set this as default? I can copy the automation, but it will be stuck at a specific length.
  6. Hi Atlas, Sorry it took so long to answer. I AM thankful for your efforts to help me. (I was in mixing mode and have been under time pressure). To your last question: no, the note is being triggered exclusively. C2 alone. No other notes are being triggered. I can't figure this out. It's probably some dumb error I made. I just can't track it down. Everything looks correct. The next time I have a couple of hours, I may build this from scratch again.
  7. Hi Atlas, The Snare samples are on an external drive. But what do you mean? Is it regarding the location of the samples? All of the other (in my case: eight) velocity ranges are working (with round robin samples). The sampler is making the connection w the other samples just fine - even with the snare samples in other velocity ranges.
  8. Hi. Thanks, Atlas. I have not touched it. It is at default. Is this what you mean? All other velocity ranges work. My best hypothesis was that Logic was not linking to the audio files properly, but it works with the other velocities. Perplexed. But in the track inspector, the velocity parameter is default.
  9. Hi guys and gals. I'm trying to troubleshoot this. Still searching. I built myself a round robin drum machine on the sampler. Everything works fine except for the snare sample. It's assigned to note C2 and I have 9 velocity ranges. They all work except for one of them. 111-120. There are four samples assigned to this velocity range and none of them produce audio even though they seem to be correctly linked to the original audio files. You can hear the audio correctly when you test within the Sampler Window, but there is no audio (from these samples in this velocity range) when I'm working on a midi segment in the main window. I've reloaded the samples, resaved, restarted, opened the sampler in other projects. Any suggestions? Here's a screenshot.
  10. Hi, I keep getting an Audio Units Plugin fail message. I'm trying to pinpoint the problem and delete the plugins. When I go to plugin manager, there are two failed plugins. But the "Remove" button, which appears upon right click, is grayed out. I looked up the plugs in Mac Finder search and it shows no system folder where they might reside (only my backup folder). I don't know where to go to delete them. Any ideas? Ps, I've checked in Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components and the two plugins in question are not there.
  11. Hi. I haven't worked on midi since before the latest update, but I could have sworn we were previously able to right click on a single aliased midi region and choose "Join Per Track". I miss it because it saved the steps of: converting the aliased region to its own unique region which required a click, another click on the dialog box that popped up, and sometimes a third click to open the region back up in the editor.
  12. Hi. I'm importing .wavs into Sampler and I'm having trouble w the little playback icon at the bottom left of the Project panel. (the one w the little speaker icon) I want to preview the wav files that populate the Project panel. But it "gets stuck" playing the same .wav. I believe it's playing one of the sounds I imported into sampler. But I can't audition other files in the list. What is the easiest way to tell Logic to play only the audio files in the list. Note: I have tried right clicking on the icon and experimenting there, but to no avail.
