  1. Ok thanks. Weird that I've never had any problems before, been using the same drive for years. Is there a way to re-format the drive without losing data?
  2. At least for me my project is just on an external SSD. Never had any issues saving on the drive before.
  3. Hey guys, Running into a weird issue today. When I try to save I get the message: "The document “Project Name” could not be saved." However I am able to save if I use 'save as' and rename the project. Anyone know what the issue is?
  4. Got it working by just deleting a bunch of old plug-ins that I don't use anymore, not sure what it was though.
  5. Hey guys, I just updated Logic and when I try to open it freezes during scanning plug-ins. I'm guessing there's some sort of incompatibility with one or more of my 3rd party plug-ins. Can anyone recommend the best way to figure out which is the offending plug-in. Thanks!
  6. So fortunately I've resolved the issue. I'll leave the answer here in case anyone ever stumbles on this issue. I have no idea why but the problem seemed to be with ilok. All I had to do was close the current cloud session and then open a new one in ilok license manager. Then rescan the plug-ins in Logic's plug-in manager and somehow they're working again!
  7. Hello, when I opened up Logic today 2 of my plug-ins are suddenly not working (was all working fine yesterday). I tried un-installing and reinstalling 1 of the plug-ins, but it still wont work. The below error message appears when opening my project. Any help would be much appreciated. Below is the Plug-in manager log when trying to validate. -------------------------------------------------- VALIDATING AUDIO UNIT: 'aufx' - 'OxIn' - 'Sony' -------------------------------------------------- Manufacturer String: Sonnox AudioUnit Name: Oxford Inflator Component Version: 3.12.0 (0x30C00) * * PASS -------------------------------------------------- TESTING OPEN TIMES: COLD: FATAL ERROR: OpenAComponent: result: -1,0xFFFFFFFF validation result: couldn’t be opened
  8. Thanks for the tips. I think your right, I need to break the process up more and prioritise overall balance first, and then the details later, rather than always trying to hear every detail of the mix. I'm going to force myself to work this way on my current project and see how it goes. Thanks again!
  9. Yeah this is true. I guess I usually try and prioritise making it sound good loud first, as I feel like this is the more 'true' way to experience the music. How it sounds at low levels/ bad speakers tends to be a secondary consideration for me.
  10. Haha , this it's actually kind of my problem. I want to make sure the track feels like its punching you in the face, or at least is exciting. But at low volumes, nothing ever feels exciting or powerful, to me at least.
  11. Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. Seems like a solid method, I'll try to implement this more into my workflow.
  12. That's true, but I find you can mostly correct for this by checking references frequently. Suddenly mixes don't sound so great when compared back to back with a mix I love. Yeah definitely agree, your painting analogy is spot on. I like to listen from the next room, really helps to hear the music more holistically without being distracted by the smaller details. Thanks for the tips!
