Thanks man, but I’ve gone through that several times, changing it back and forth. Funny thing is I opened another older project today and while cycle recording works in that project, the metronome doesn’t! 1234 icon is enabled, during count in checked, yet it starts off without any count ins! So seems it’s something to do with older versions not being updated correctly.

This is confusing to me... So you want to use pre-roll when recoding an instrument, and it's all good if in the middle of the song, but if the song starts off from the beginning, the pre-roll isn't played back and you can't export the project and include a pre-roll. Since many years back I've been adding a bar with count-in and then exporting excluding that part in the export range. It's a waste of a bar imo, and when using "Arrangement" you always have to add one just for count-in. So how do you guys do? Not a biggie, I'm just curious.

Hi, so I'm probably just missing something, still fairly new to Logic beyond GarageBand, so to speak. Cycle recording is working fine and I've never had any issues with it until I opened up an older project: it simply won't create a take folder, instead it's just recording over the previous take. I have gone over all settings that I can think of. I guess I could just create a new project and move all the files, but I'm also a bit curious to why; if I'm missing something or if it's actually a bug. Thanks in advance!
