  1. Have been busy studying so haven't posted in a while guys n gals. This is totally messing around so I know the mix is too compressed and muddy but here's a quick/fun little track I did last night mashing up a couple of my favorite genres... Includes video of the single take banjo track http://deography.com/mp3/Retard_river.mp3
  2. hhahahha sorry you set yourself up there.
  3. Hi all, I want to record some text-to-speech from my same Mac (System Audio) into logic. Is this something I can achieve with the environment or do I need a third party plugin or software? thanks d
  4. Thanks Guitar is recorded clean, all effects in Logic played/recorded with software monitoring on. (Motu 828 I/O) I used fuzz wah for the rhythm, a clean virtual amp for the "upstroke" rhythm for some texture, space designer for the first leads, and a virtual amp with a logic distortion preset for the wailing lead at the end.
  5. thanks for the feedback guys, really appreciate it and will take all of those suggestions on board! sub-d, heh funny you say that.. it just seems natural to me to make bass brown and drums orange/yellow. But I think I was just being semantic when I made the organ parts black and the lead electric a fire-engine red
  6. I agree with Dennis, its way too slow. I need it for server admin, but unless I'm running serious bandwidth at both ends I'd rather use a windows server with RDP.
  7. definitely sounds like a mix styled track ready to drop into a dj set. Bass line sounds great, if I heard this out dancin I'm sure I'd happily keep groovin'. Hope you enjoy Logic enough to stay!
  8. Listened to Round Midnight and was very impressed ! Sublime, smooth, really great sound you've got there. Great playing
  9. Firstly, Tubular Bells is a decent, and certainly pioneering piece of work.. but it has parts that make me cringe (the grunting stuff particularly), and I do like the first side better. As for the oldfield vs branson thing, I agree branson made a lot of money out of it, but he also lost most of that money trying to finance new artists. Branson also practically built the studio oldfield used... used for a year+ no less... and bought him all the instruments. If it weren't for branson's faith and marketing on the project we may never have heard Tubular Bells! I applaud them both for risking everything on such a non-commercial recording Liked the track mrautorock, has great musicality and layers! Certainly does make me think of a 60's - 70s style jam.. very cool!
  10. This kind of musicality makes me way jealous! I love it, good luck with it all!
  11. Simple but nice.. the sparseness of it makes it sounds 90's in my opinion, but I'm a huge 90's kid so thats a compliment I suppose you could decorate with more layers, reverb etc as suggested.. but then it would sound commercial/contemporary... which is also fine I suppose! Hope you do well for uni.
  12. I didn't read all the feedback posted here but just wanted to say I really like how this track is sounding.. its a great song and sounds radio-ready to me! Great vocals and guitar.
  13. Welcome to Logic.. generally. It's a lot of fun and I know you will translate your musical intentions better and better as you go. You'll pick up lots of production techniques and a song like the one you posted could really shine, because it's great. I kept my early Logic mixes and went back to them 12 months later and shook my head at what I'd done, but having them there I was able to re-record parts and/or mix again and was happy!
  14. Nice track man You have a really nice voice. The filtered guitar makes sounds kinda "tool"ish (but less heavy of course). Nice chorus too. The drums are crazy and distracting from the heart song but they sound great anyway.
  15. Had a muck about last night with my guitars. Last few tracks have been very electronic so its good to get back to the steel strings Bass, acoustic and the Les Paul get a workout on this one. Quick n simple mix but I like to share with the board. cheers d http://www.dylan.dragnet.com.au/lesystem.jpg http://www.dylan.dragnet.com.au/Le%20System%201.mp3
