  1. Never mind. I forgot to “Bypass All Control Surfaces,” and once I did it worked perfectly. is there a way to make this the default?
  2. I just bought a Boss Katana guitar amp, with a USB out. The amp connects fine to the Mac, shows up in Boss Tone Studio, is available as an input or output in the Sound control panel, and the Audio preferences of Logic. I set the main interface as the output, the Katana as the input. The Katana produces a visible level in the mixing board, but when I hit Record, it just doesn't record. Even when I have evevrtything set up "correctly," the Katana does not show up as a potential input in the channel strip. So it LOOKS like it should record, but it doesn't. Any clues? Anybody else using the USB out from an amp into Logic?
  3. Well, I'm sorry to have put you all to so much bother. When I opened a new, empty project, everything worked fine. There's just screwy something about the project I was working in. I should have taken this step before anything else. Thanks, all of you.
  4. I didn’t feel as if anyone was treating me like a novice… I was just explaining that I kind of know what I’m doing, and this has me flummoxed. I’ll try the new user thing. I was on the verge of deleting and reinstalling Logic Pro.
  5. You assume correctly, and both controllers show up in DP's MIDI Monitor. But in Logic, there is NO MIDI activity shown in the MIDI environment's Clicks and Ports layer. Something is stopping them before they get there. I'm not a digital audio novice... I am retired from making a living producing music for ads and video games. But I can't even visualize where to look.
  6. Yeah, still the nothing. Nothing checked in the MIDI filter. It’s quite the mystery. I can use Digital Performer, but I can work faster in Logic and would rather use it for my current stuff.
  7. Well, today I get up and open the file I was working on yesterday, and the behavior is back. There are NO controller assignments listed, no control surface selected, and yet the Mod Wheel and Sustain Pedal do not work. I Bypass(ed) All Controllers, and this time no joy. Any other hints?
  8. polanoid... Yep, that fixed it. Some kind of bad control surface information. Bypass was the cure. Thanks!
  9. My copy of Logic has just started to exhibit some weird behavior. It is not receiving Mod Wheel or Sustain Pedal messages. Both the wheels and pedals work in Digital Performer, so I've clearly done something to screw it up. I couldn't find the MIDI Assignment page (I'm still learning this DAW). Ay ideas on what I've done?
  10. Howdy, all. I'm Jim Bordner, and I'm rejoining the forum. Havenn't been around much, because after using Logic Pro for 1.5 years, I ended up going back to Digital Performer as my primary DAW. But I've kept my hand in with Logic Pro, and recent updates have encouraged me to spend more time in there... Well, there are so many slick, intuitive features that I'm using Logic Pro as my DAW for my current project... absolutely the largest and most challenging video game score I've done yet. I'm already finding that Logic is just faster to get around in than DP (and this is from a guy who has been running MOTU software since version 1.7), and the audio quality is much improved. I'm loving it, and expect that Logic Pro will likely be my primary going forward. So I'm happy to rejoin this forum to learn what you guys know! Thanks for having me....
