  1. Yeah... after searching around and fiddling with it I'm coming to that conclusion. Annoying. Gonna make a song template with all common tracks in it and base everything on that. Thanks, Jordi 🙂
  2. I could only find a very old topic on this. Maybe it has been implemented and I'm just not seeing the obvious or? Anyway. It's very simple. I would like to build a couple of user patches for my various equipment that is always hooked up to the same channels on my interface. So I imagine loading patches like: Vocal mic, input channel 4 with my favorite compressor and eq setting. My Hydrasynth as stereo inputs 5 and 6 Helix guitar multi effect two tracks: A stereo track, inputs 19 + 20 A mono track input 25 (muted) etc... The idea is that I just load the patch and then I don't have to find the inputs and everything saving me a few clicks. Unfortunately Logic does not seem to save the input settings. I looked into the plist files generated when you save a user patch, but they don't mean much to me. Maybe these can be modified to retain the input settings.
  3. Thanks! Seems like it was a bad midi interface. I tried another and it works. But really appreciate the code and link to the manual. The manual I found else where was very limited. And you got me kickstarted with scripting 😊
  4. This is very much mixed emotions. At first I was super thrilled when I read this in the release notes. But then reality hit me. First the scribbles are (as we all know) of a terrible quality so the darker colors (red and blue) can only be read from direct angle. Not very practical. It's not physically possible for me in my setup to angle it at a steeper angle. But that's on Behringer. I really wish I could pop out those scribbles and somehow angle them better. Second, Logic Pro only comes with variations of track colors that matches 6 out of the 7 colors (excluding the blank). I cannot trigger a white track it seems. Last time I had such a limited color palette was in windows 3.1 paintbrush 😂 If they really wanted to do this right they would also play with inverted colors. But anyway - kudos to the developers of Logic Pro for actually trying 😉
  5. Hi I have never tried scripter before and is in a hurry (recording my kid on midi drums for Christmas present for her grand dad!) so she has this old Yamaha DTXPLORER drumkit and for some reason it either doesn’t send note off or logic doesn’t get it. So basically when she hit one of the pads the same pad cannot be retriggered for a second or two 🤷‍♂️😳 when I look at the recorded midi they are all sustained for at least a whole beat. So if someone can either tell me what checkbox I have missed or help me with a small script that limits note length to eg 1/128 or so I would be super grateful and you have saved Christmas 🤗
  6. More like: here’s the list of bugs (new and old) we introduced with 10.8 that we plan on fixing in 10.8.1. That would be nice 😂 That being said this seems like a massive update with a very long list of stability and bug fixes. And I like what I have seen so far so it won’t be long before I hit update.
  7. Will probably wait and let you guys test it out then before I upgrade
  8. “Resolves an issue where Logic Pro no longer quit unexpectedly when importing Score Sets from another project.” So does that mean that logic will again quit unexpectedly?
  9. All processing will happen on the x32, so the mac will just be recording/playing back. It will however have to record for 1-2 hours in a row since it’s a theatre play
  10. I might have an option to get hold of an old MacBook Air from 2017, but will it be able to handle 32/32 channels from the Behringer x32? I cannot really test this before I would have to commit to it 🫣 Most of the time it will probably only be relevant to record 20-25 channels simultaneously, but that’s still way more than I have previously tried on any setup
  11. Ok… according to the manual it should be an audio track. So guitar will do fine. A midi based drum region needs to be converted to audio first it seems.
  12. Probably best to keep the follow track as simple as possible so try to have guitar alone. And without too much noodling. Just plain and simple
  13. And theoretically you can make your groove/cue track (without singing!) and get logic to create a tempo map of that by analyzing the transients. So tempo will not be constant throughout the song, but you’ll still get a grid for drummer to lock on to. Again there’s a bit too much Apple magic involved and it will often create too many tempo changes or guess completely wrong with a factor 2. You can adjust it afterwards.
  14. It’s not perfect, though. Sometimes it will give me something that’s just spot on. Sometimes it’s like playing with a drummer that’s on a different planet. There’s a quite a bit of apple magic involved. I will usually do one of the following: 1) Make a groove/cue track for drummer to follow with acoustic guitar. Making downstroke on low strings for kick and upstroke for snare. 2) make a basic midi region/track with drum synth with just kick and snare 3) record with a mic myself saying boom / click for kick/snare (like one of those rappers). Then I’ll “audition the different drummers take” on it till I find something I like. But it can be a very tedious process and with mixed results. I really wish that rayzoon and his jamstix worked better on Mac. It has a very clumsy interface and steep learning curve, but it gives you max control over details and great drums. There is a Mac version but I find it very unstable.
  15. Just checking: You have noticed the small “follow” check box under kick and snare right?
