  1. Hi guys, First off, Dave's system is Mac to Mac. To answer some of the questions that have appeared so far: No we never tried an internal server as a test. Yes I was able to get the first note delay on a LPX song using auxes on the first note on my server setup like Dave's every time I tried. Yes, when using a Multi-midi object triggering an instance of VEPro in an instrument -multi, no problems, the first note delay issue went away. * A 3d party we know does this EXACT same thing and gets no first note latency issue like the 2 of us do, so who knows what THAT one's about. that's all I can think of off the top of my overworked head right now. Questions George
  2. Here are the issues we have confirmed: 1) when using an AUX, there is no record button, so the first not is always latent until the track goes into record. This happens EVERY time you try and record on this track. Normally, the VI will have the first note latent, but once the track is in record, it's gone... an AUX doesn't have a record, so it's always being reset after your press stop... yep, Logic being illogical once again The second issue is with VEP: It appears that the buffer size being displayed by VEP is changing when being placed into record, than changing after the first note gets played. Again, I think this one is because of using an aux rather than another way, but I wasn't able to confirm this on the guys computer, he had to get back to work. George
  3. David and I have been trying to suss out this issue and have discovered that Console is showing us an error: 1com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[177]: (com.apple.logic.pro.32944[930]) Exited: Terminated: 15 spindump[946]: Logic Pro [930] didn't gather any samples due to audio running Does anyone out there have any idea what this might mean? I'm under the impression that the spindump is the error report that was made in console, but that does the "Logic Pro [930] didn't gather any samples due to audio running" mean? This seems to be the cause of the latency... Any programmer types have any suggestions? George
  4. That is what I said... very low note, so deep it won't sound (usually C-2 or something like that, lower than any keyswitches from most sample libraries.
  5. I guess a good clarification questions would be: if this at the start of the day, or after the system has been sitting for a while, or does it do it every time you start playback? I tried to PM you but the email said your address didn't exist... Can you pm me your contact info?
  6. Hi, I suspect it's because the sample engine needs some kind of data to "wake up". Have you tried to send it a midi note way below normal playing (say a -C00 if it exists... a very low not no one would use. Send it as far away as you can (I ALWAYS start my song playback at bar 3 so I can send all the commands for the different players I need to wake with, Logic own engine, Kontakt sounds, VSL, etc). So I have 2 clear bars to add notes, controller resets or levels (mod wheel being one of the main ones), and by the time other midi get to them, they are awake, and setup for proper playback. Try that and let me know if it works for you. George Leger III BTW Thank David if it does help, he sent me an email asking if I could help... If not, maybe we can talk on the phone.
  7. Hi, I just made a 4 minute tutorial on how to use VEPro to host 32 bit plugins in Logic Pro x. you can find it here, on you tube: I hope it helps people to be able to easily get 32 bit plugins in Logic, and no, I have no affiliation or association with the VSL people in any way... 8. Unless someone takes the time to verify them and do a report to the apple via the feedback link in the Logic menu, I doubt it. George Leger III
  9. Thanks David.. I realized this a few minutes later... Man, when they make these minute changes, and I try and do something that worked one way before... I freaking hate it. It's confusing. They really need a document that outlines EVERYTHING they changed, so us old-timers that have habits from years ago have half a chance at working with it without a long reacquainting period. I mean, this specific thing is such a small thing but to have to go through the time to realize the issue and how to resolve it takes away ALL creativity.. right? George Leger III Grumpy while getting over another summer cold....
  10. Here's a new "Window Focus" bug... I have my track selected in the workspace, and have the Piano Roll editor going. The widow focus is on the Piano Roll, I can clearly see the line around that specific area. When I try and use the "m" key to mute a note in the window focused piano roll, the entire track mutes instead up in the workspace instead. Now, I HATE the window focus thing from before, much preferring the old way that, when I selected a note in the Piano Roll, it automatically focused on that window (LP7 and earlier worked like this)... now I have to remember to do a long hold on the note in the piano roll to make focus switch to this editor. If I can't mute a note in one editor without it affecting the entire track in the workspace I'm... screwed. Can someone please confirm that this is in fact true. just make a new midi track, add the new Retro Synth to it, make a series on notes, then open the piano roll, make sure the focus is on the piano roll , and try and mute a not in your sequence. It's going to mute the track in the workspace. ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGG!!!! I really hope this is user error on my part, I missed something somewhere in a preference or??? George Leger III
  11. I'm finding in certain view modes it seems to "stutter or flutter" the image of the channel strip in the mixer. And the behavior is not always happening. Next time I find that it's doing it I'll take a screen movie. George Leger III
  12. Works here (but I'm still using the my old key commands). Try pressing the "T" key. If not look for the "Show Tool Menu" command in the key commands window. J. Thanks, T did the trick, and a new assignment makes it like it's been since... say 20 years
  13. the escape key no longer seems to open the tools. I also discovered that if I set the "Include audio tail" function, Logic just keeps going and going and going and... George
  14. It would also depend on things like if you are using Flex mode (uses lots of ram and Logic running in 32 bit can really only use just above 2 GB of ram).
  15. Open the song, right click and hold down the mouse on the titlebar to open the hierarchy menu, and look down the list until you find the folder where it is contained. If you select this folder from the list and release your mouse, the finder should open the folder that contains the song... delete and your done.
