Perhaps this is already possible but I work a lot with virtual instruments, pecking out notes and command switches in the piano roll. I know it's possible to record MIDI but most times I need to work manually - I'm not that good a keyboard player. Wondering if there is a way I can semi-automate editing the piano roll by printing the next note I play? So, if I need a D1, position the playhead, key D1 on the keyboard and the note is printed to the piano roll. Anyone know a trick or utility to do this, please?
