  1. Wht you describe looks like Logic being in basic mode. You could try to return to advanced mode in the Advanced preferences. YES! I have always had advance preferences turned on for the past however many tears. Since I trashed my prefs it came up in the default.
  2. Check you plugin compensation settings under General I think That's EXACTLY what it was. Depending on the instrument I need to with turn Plugin Compensation on or off, and turn Low Latency Mode on or off. It's a combination of those, no one setting seems to work globally. Thanks, been three days in the making!
  3. I think I found a fix. I had this latency problem ONLY in Drum Machine Designer. Not UltraBeat or other keyboard instruments. The fix that's working so far is to Turn Plug-In Latency Compensation off, and turn off Low Latency Mode Preferences > Audio > General tab
  4. I'm still having MAJOR issues with Drum Machine Designer. When I try to perform from with my Arturia Keyboard or my Roland SPD-30, the Midi is writing about an 1/8th note late. I'm in LowLatency mode, restarted Core Audio, have no sample delay set, 128 is my buffer size. When I perform I hear everything in perfect sync but I see that the midi notes are not lining up on the beats. When I pay back, they are off grid by about an 1/8th note. Doesn't happen with other keyboard patches. Anyone else?
  5. I had some odd issues with sync and midi notes in the piano roll showing up in random places not on their assigned notes. I trashed my preferences and - so far - those issues went away. I don't have a ton of custom settings so this isn't a huge thing for me. BUT after I trashed my prefs, I noted some distinct changes to my interface that were NOT there before. S and M on each channel have been replaced with a speaker icon and a headphone. The mixer at the bottom is better aligned and the window default resize perfectly shows the fader/pan AND track name. I'm certain there are more changes I haven't noticed yet, but I've found that trashing the preferences was an improvement.
  6. Hers a bit of an update that is even a little more confusing: I opened one of the projects I was giving me this problem. I froze every channel and had no sync problems. So then bit by bit I unfroze the tracks, reloaded the plug-ins, until I was back at the state I experienced these sync issues. And didn't have that sync issue.
  7. Hi all I'm using an Roland SPD 30 as a midi trigger to trigger drum samples in Drum Machine Designer. I'm in Low Latency mode and monitor without any latency when I record. However, the midi information recorded into the track is delayed between a 1/16th and an 1/8th note. When I play the track back, it is delayed. The midi notes are clearly not in sync This only happens on existing sessions, if I start a session from an empty template, I have no issues. My buffer is at 128. I turned quantize off, I tried multiple sound libraries, as well as different drum plug-ins, all the same exact result. Turned Low Latency on and off, restarted, nothing changes. I have an Arturia keyboard, and this does not have the issue, just the SPD 30. The SPD-30 is connected via USB to my 2017 iMac, running Catalina, Logic 10.5. UA Apollo duo, 64megs of ram.
  8. Good point, I'll leave the stock sounds be. Logic provides so many great free sounds, but that library could be organized better. For example: All Bass sounds should be located within the main Bass folder in the Sounds Library and sub categorized within that Main Bass folder instead of having separate Bass folders within the Logic Folder, the Garage Band folder, the Jam Pack folders, the World folder etc. Using the search bar is a good workaround, but this could be smarter. To a more fundamental question regarding organization: Can you tell me where on my hard drive I should put third party sounds so they show up in the Sounds library root level, not in any sub folders within the Sounds library. At least I could organize the sounds I buy in a way that makes sense to me.
  9. I'm in search of a definitive way / method of organizing my hard drives so that the hierarchy I create on my drives is reflected in the Sound Library within Logic. I find my sound library's default organization to be convoluted, I'd rather organize it in a way that makes sense. For example: There are 2 Orchestral Libraries, one in the Sound Library and one in Legacy>Logic> 10 Orchestral, I'd rather they all be in one place. So before I go and completely destroy my system... Can anyone steer me to the definitive method on how to clean up the poor default sound library? Thanks in advance -e
