  1. I just remember another annoying thing with solo lock. I like to make a stereo mix down of a project and place it on the top track i Arr window when im done working with a project. This way i always have a ready to go mix to listen to when i open the project again, and if i want to do adjustments etc. Before i close a project i place the last stereo mix on the top audio track and i solo lock it before i save and close the project. When i open the project again the solo-locked track status is "forgotten" and all tracks are playing. I now have to solo lock the stereo mix in order to hear this alone. It seems that there are many bugs with the solo lock, this is very sad because it´s a very nice feature
  2. Hi Chris Thanks for your reply. Im sorry to say but i did not find a solution for this and i gave up searching. If you find out something, please post here. best regards Henning
  3. Unitor 8 - Unitor 8 Mk II - AMT 8 - different reversions I need a midi thru box - sending clock and midi data to one input and distributing it to 7-8 outputs to other synths for data and syncing arp, lfo, etc. I have a AMT 8 and have tried various settings with the 8-64 Panel (Mac OS High Sierra) and its possible to make a patch for the AMT 8 which will pass on clock and data, but when reeboot or remove the USB connection to Mac, the clock thru disappears and i cant find a way for saving it to a patch and geting clock true back without connection USB to Mac I´ve read that it should be possible for Unitor 8 to work in stand-alone mode (and remember the clock-thru settings) but this may be only true for Unitor 8 and not AMT 8 - can anyone confirm or comment on this ? Also if this is the case, is there a difference in the Unitor 8 and Unitor 8 Mk. II regarding the stand-alone mode ? I have seen 5 different Unitor 8 / AMT 8 reversions: Unitor 8 (non USB) - same font for the front panel word “Unitor 8” as the Mk II USB reversion - 3 black buttons on the front: “power” and “panic/patch” and “mac thru” Unitor 8 Mk II (USB) - same font for the front panel word “Unitor 8” as the non USB reversion - 2 black buttons on the front: “power” and “panic/patch” Unitor 8 (USB) - different font for the front panel word “Unitor 8” and a white vertical line between “unitor” and “8” - 2 black buttons on the front: “power” and “panic/patch” AMT 8 - (USB) - 2 black buttons on the front: “power” and “panic/patch” same font as Unitor 8 (non USB) and Unitor 8 Mk. II AMT 8 - (USB) - 2 black buttons on the front: “power” and “panic/patch” same font as Unitor 8 (USB) and with a white vertical line between “amt” and “8” does anyone have comments on the different versions ?
  4. Hi Cleamon - Thanx for your response I understand that this could be a workaround, but after many, many years working with Logic (i´ve been with Logic since preliminary version 1 from 1989 !) im very focused on the most effective workflow (mostly minimum use of mouse and as many keycommands as possible) and this should actually work without having to click the solo buttons and then arming tracks - i think that this is how solo lock should work. Your soloution - and thanx for participating is some more (unnessecary) clicks and button-pressing which is exactly what i want to avoid. I use this method a lot when working with many tracks and having to hear and edit/record only some of the tracks - this is a situation where im listening/working to a full arrangement oand switching to only a part of the arrangement. I need to switch from all track to only selected tracks for monitoring and recording additional notes. For me the soloution should be: selection the regions i want to hear solo and record additional notes to with the mouse and then activate these tracks in solo lock mode. best regards Flintholm
  5. Solo Lock strange behaviour - part 2 Im sorry for any confusion with not precise description of the problem - im trying again here: my settings: preferences/recording/overlapping recordings/midi/ cycle on & cycle off = merge keycommands/global commands/solo mode = S keycommands/global commands/set solo lock mode = ALT + S keycommands/global commands/capture as recording ex. track 1 (midi) has a region with notes track 2 (midi) has a region with notes i want to add some more notes to the region on track 2 i select the 2 regions and use my keycommand for solo lock mode - now the 2 regions is in solo lock mode (the standard “S” icon for solo in the control bar has the special orange solo lock symbol and not the normal orange solo symbol, confirming that im in solo lock mode) i start logic and i only hear the 2 solo-lock tracks i record additional notes to one of the tracks (merging new notes to the active input track) - using my keycommand for capture as recording after the recording i stop logic and now the track with new added notes is no longer in solo lock mode - only the track(s) which did not have notes added to is in solo mode this means that after the recording, the previously selected tracks in solo lock mode now doesn´t include the newly recorded track although it was in solo lock mode before - to hear the newly added notes i have to select the 2 tracks again und use solo lock mode (or solo mode) I have had this problem for a long time - i have this problem on different systems Mac Mini 2012 / OSX 10.13.6 / Logic 10.4.4 - MacBook Pro 2012 / OSX 10.13.6 / Logic 10.4.4 / Mac Pro 2009 (updated to 5.1) OSX 10.13.6 / Logic 10.4.4
  6. Edit I meant there is a different icon for the normal solo mode (not normal lock mode)
  7. Hi You are right, solo lock tracks is not possible. I mean that I’m solo locking f.ex 3 regions (each in its own track) I’m using the key command for solo lock and I’m sure this is solo lock, there is also a different icon for the solo lock as for the normal lock mode.
  8. Strange ??? I’ve had this problem for a long time. I’m using a Roland A 500 pro midi keyboard, Logic Mackie Control, Mackie C4 pro controller connected to Amt 8 Midi interface. I also have some other synths connected to Amt 8. I can’t imagine that it should have anything to do with the connected controllers and synths. I will try to reproduce the problem on another system later.
  9. Thanx for your feedback I will describe a bit more detailed what i do: I have 2 midi regions playing (on 2 different tracks) and want to record a new part on a third track. I record some notes on the third track. Now i want to add more notes to the third track - selecting all 3 tracks and solo-lock these tracks. When i add more notes to this track (with capture recording or with normal recording) the moment i stop logic the last recorded track is no more in solo lock mode - only the 2 previous tracks
  10. Also when solo-locking an audio track and a midi track this happens for me
  11. Im using the latest 10.4.4 - did you record "normally" or use capture recording ?
  12. I sometimes solo-lock some tracks and record additional notes to one of the tracks. f.ex. working on a 4 voice string part on 4 tracks - adding notes to one part as the rest play in solo-lock mode. I usually work a lot with capture last take - this way i can try out different voicings/ideas as the parts are playing and if i like what i played i dont have to record it again. I have set the record midi so it will merge to the active track. After each capture take the active track (where im adding notes) will no longer be in solo lock mode, although it was one of the solo-locked tracks before the capture. This is very annoying as i have to select the 4 parts again in order to hear them solo. Any ideas ?
  13. I have a similar situation with sometimes a sample library using exp-pedal for volume For all tracks where i need a start CC event i use a very simple methode: I have a keycommand for “Record Toggle” where Logic goes in record-pause mode - does not move. Now i move a fader, press a pedal or move the exp pedal to max or whatever start CC i need - then i press the keycommand for record toggle again (going out of record-pause) I have now made a new region with the CC event i need You can also check the event in the event list afterwards for further adjustments
