  1. Thanks for the link. The dialog boxes pictured don't match my version (10.4.8) very well, but it was enough to help me figure it out. I also found that the Kontakt player plugin has its own internal MIDI settings (channel, etc.) that appear to override the Logic channel settings. You have to set both, and they have to be identical, but it does work. Thanks again.
  2. I have two MIDI keyboards, an Arturia MiniLab II and a 88 key M-Audio. They both work with LPX, but I'm trying to find a way to use one to play a soft instrument on one track, and the other to play a different instrument on a different track. Think live performance here. I can't find where to set a track's response to either a device or midi channel. Thanks!
  3. Ah yes, the deadly "combining of functions so you don't know where they are"...problem. Thanks, I'll give it a try.
  4. Found the problem. I'm using an M-Audio ProKeys 88 as a controller. It was set to one of iits few internal patches without velocity, so it wasn't transmitting it either. Switching to a piano patch brought up velocity. Thanks!
  5. I understand it's patch-specific, but it's a little unusual to not find any patches that are responding to velocity...like pianos, for example, which need to if they are to be useful. Not a one responds, which is why I'm suspect of a setup glitch.
  6. Are there some MIDI settings somewhere that need to be tweaked to get Logic Pro X to play patches with response to velocity and aftertouch? Right now, I can play every patch, and my keyboard spits out velocity and aftertouch data, but Logic ignores it. Thanks!
  7. I've only dabbled in Logic for a while, but just sprang for the latest version, so I'm digging in for real now. I'm still exploring what's available, working through sounds, samples, and patches. As usual, I find most are not my thing, and a select few are. Is there a way I can create custom sets of patches? Like if I like an orchestra clarinet, a vintage synth pad, several leads, a few basses, etc., can I create a new group of my pre-selected favorites, perhaps organized categorically in sub-folders? Perhaps grouping them based on a particular style or orchestration? Sorry if this is obvious. A basic search here and in the help file didn't turn up an answer.
