... but in a good way!!
Seriously this is very good, I'm impressed. I wonder how you get it to sound close, do you work only by ear and try to find the right sounds, or do you first look for information regarding the production of the original to get some insight on the gear they used in the original?
Great production work.
What do you do with all these tracks you keep producing? These should be sold as quality Karaoke backing tracks or something. I used to do that kind of work for Yamaha keyboards, producing MIDI files of famous songs for their keyboards. The pay was good!!
Thank you, David !
I think I have a pretty good ear to separate the sounds from the tracks in my brain to understand what is THAT sound and what is THIS sound )) Of course many sounds could be masked or something else and for THIS track I needed to find some additional info to make that remake possible.
I don't think this remake is superb, I like it but that's all due to some limitations of FM synthesis and the quality of some drums used from Logic library (Damn I hate this Linn drum kick from Logic, why they made it sounding hard ? )
About this track...Most listeners could say this is just a "basic" pop track from 80s, nothing special....BUT this is not true. There are many instruments were used there and some of them are could give to the listeners misleading representation. For example, the toms...Most of the people still thinking they are from Simmons, but (as I read) that was Roland Alpha preset. This just an example what interesting you can find about this track...
Most of my remakes are for sell on our site as Logic projects. Also some people asking to make audio stems from them like karaoke.
