  1. Improved things here too, in a first quick look. I notice some improvements as well. The CPU meter hasn't been maxing out for me, but I noticed yesterday when working on a 96khz session I was getting some pops and clicks and the song kept jumping back to the playhead and restarting several times even though the CPU wasn't maxed out or peaking. The only difference I can find is that I started using the PA 9000 J throughout the session and before I didn't use it because it was causing this behavior. I figured with M1 update it would be better but doesn't seem to be. Anyone else have issues with the bx_console plugins?
  2. I see in your signature you have the M1 Max MacBook Pro? I’ve had no issues recording AND mixing songs at 96khz on my M1 Max MacBook Pro. Unless you have crazy huge sessions I think your CPU will be able to handle recording and mixing at 96khz. And with the rise of HD audio becoming more mainstream recording at 96khz is not a bad idea, and certainly the higher fidelity does make a difference to my ears. It’s like 4K UHD vs standard blu-ray movies. Sure most people won’t really notice, but those with the right setup will definitely notice. Small details do matter and more and more listeners are getting into Hi-res audio. Just my take.
  3. Yesssssss! The performance was already pretty good with an unsupported OS and M1 Max for me, so now with this being Monterey compatible and M1 native, should be sweet! I know plugins like u-he diva was seeing almost 30-50% or more performance increases on M1 native, so if Kontakt is anywhere close to those numbers I'll be one happy customer! Thanks for the heads up as well
  4. Oh yeah helpful video I remember watching that. However the performance issues are still unsolved with any tinkering in settings I’ve done recently. Hopefully a new update fixes the issues that seem to effect M1 pro/Max users more than M1.
  5. I have the iZotope MPS 4.1 and everything’s working great for me so far. Tested in both native and Rosetta mode no issues so far.
  6. I’m starting to think the issue is either 1) The way logic is enabling midi tracks. Because some kontakt libraries I have (bass synth or Triaz for example) will completely spike the cpu meter just by selecting that track. After a few seconds the CPU spike resolves itself and I can record and play whatever I need to play, most of the time.. 2) MacOS Monterey may be the culprit as most plugins are not “officially” supported. However I just ran a 96khz session full of Kontakt and Plugin Alliance and didn’t have any major issues playing things back in Rosetta. So it’s kind of hard to pin point one thing that may be causing poor performance.
  7. These issues seem to be something that will need to be fixed in a future update. Not something they can actually fix over the phone or via chat, although I won't rule that out as every time I have called Apple over the phone support has been excellent. This just seems like a software issue with the current version of Logic and Monterey not playing well together. Could be wrong though I have a call setup later today and hope they can shed some light on what's going on.
  8. Yeah I agree Logic doesn't seem ready for the new chips. Maybe Logic Pro 11 is coming and they are saving some of the powerful features for that? This scenario is why I skipped the first apple M1 generation thinking when these newer and more powerful chips are released, Logic and most of the plugins I use will be native and less buggy. Guess it's still too soon! I'm gonna post on the official apple forum as well and try to link to this topic so hopefully the Logic devs can see multiple users are reporting this kind of behavior. I wonder why your post got removed on the official forum?
  9. I have been having issues like this as well on my M1 Max 16 inch. Indeed it does feel very buggy and Logic doesn’t seem to be handling the power of the new machines properly. I also created a thread about this earlier and other users report similar issues. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=161009
  10. I have a similar issue on my M1 Max - however the popping/cracking is happening on a single track of a stock instrument plugin. With video proof - https://bit.ly/3lzxlT8 Not sure if my issue is the same cause as yours, but I'd imagine the M1 Max should be handling this way better! Indeed it should be handling this way better! My older late 2013 MBP retina doesn’t even have this issue. Which is very strange behavior. If the CPU in the M1 MAX is supposed to be this powerful beast where you can throw anything at it, then I am patiently waiting to see it! It is blazing fast and the performance (when working properly) is fantastic, so maybe the current Logic on Monterey just has a lot of bugs. Maybe they should think about adding a “power mode” to Logic for M1 Max computers to really take advantage of the power of the machine. Seems like some kind of bottleneck is happening IMO.
  11. Appreciate the reply! But the actual library runs inside UVI Falcon which is M1 Native. And this is only one plugin issue I'm having with Logic. Kontakt, Alchemy and even Sampler seem to have these weird CPU spikes on tracking. But Playback of a large full session I can play everything back no problem at super low buffers. I think the way Logic is handling the cores is causing the issues. Very weird behavior interested to know if anyone else has run into any issues! Seems to be when I click on an instrument and get ready to play the CPU will spike but when I record it is normal. No clue what's happening!
  12. I am beyond confused with my M1 Max MacBook Pro running current Logic Pro X and macOS Monterey. I'm getting constant clicks and pops and CPU spikes, sustained midi notes that will not stop even when I unplug my Midi Controller. For CPU issues in the performance meter it's always the Processing Threads far right that spike all the way to the top. I have Logic set to use all cores but it never does during recording and tracking. I'm using UVI Falcon which is M1 Native but this happens even with intensive Alchemy Patches. Clicks and pops everywhere smh. I hope someone can help me understand what the heck is going on. Very frustrating to be having this kind of performance on a $5k machine. 64gb Ram and 4TB SSD M1 Max 16 inch model. I'll also attach a screenshot of this happening on a bass patch only being played from Lo-Fi dreams UVI Falcon expansion. This can't be the performance I'm supposed to be getting?
  13. 1. Overloud TH-U is also a "terrible joke". But the real joke? None of the amp sims sound like a real guitar amp. By the time you spend all the money comparing amp sims, you could have purchased a real guitar amp lol. Better of using Logic's if you have to use a sim. 2. Adaptive Limiter can compete with most high end 3rd party limiters. This is from experience. 3. Yes Drum Kit Designer in Logic pro X sounds as good in the mix as Superior Drummer 3. I know, $400 for drum software should absolutely demolish logics little drum kit in the sound department, but it doesn't. The retro rock kit holds up well against any of my drum software including SD3 and AD2 which I own. Our ego can sometimes fool us and the marketing companies do a good job stroking our ego with the wording of the products so they pull you in. Who wouldn't buy a plugin claiming to give you the classic sound of Pink Floyd, The Beatles or Rolling Stones? Again, I'm not saying it's bad to own 3rd party software as I do myself, but my thing is how much is enough? These are the things you come up with as thought experiments when you spend all day every day recording and making records lol. Hope this thread inspires some kid to stop buying so many plugins and make a hit record then they will basically give you the gear haha
  14. Definitely not saying they are pointless. I myself use Keyscape to replace the Logic Pianos & Electric Pianos out of preference. I also use Antares products for Vocals as I have used that stuff since forever, and it get's the job done. Outside of that, I'm not sure where logic falls short at the moment? My argument is not that 3rd party developers are useless or pointless, but that Logic in it's current state is so well put together that I believe producers/songwriters/artist should check the Logic workflow carefully, and see where in Logic 3rd party plugins might could improve your overall sound. For me it was Pianos/Electric Pianos and Vocal processing. And as far as my experience with 3rd party plugins, I doubt you can name a developer I haven't used in the last 15 years. I've been through the ringer with 3rd party developers even scoring some free stuff as a producer/writer along the way.
  15. Yeah I agree with that. Updated Deeser would be great. Recently I learned a pretty slick trick for deesing in logic with the compressor plugin using the side chain filters. If you use it right it can smooth out the harshness of vocals really nicely. Works much better than the stock Deeser for me so far.
