  1. Also for context i'm looking to avoid using different channels to solve this i only play any track once and need to control different VSTs by just moving the track selector from only these two keyboards (the sub37 and generic keyboard) so looking to keep things on one channel
  2. I don't have the brand of everything on hand unfortunately some are just generic boxes i found Device 1: 3 fader no brand box Device 2: 24 key keyboard controller, no brand that i can discern Device 3: Sub37 synth from Moog I have a MIDI track for an external instrument setup in logic with the intention of controling the Sub37 with a combination of devices 1+2 (keys and fader as mod wheel). Setting the track MIDI input source to All works just fine, however in some cases (e.g Latch Arppegio is on on the Sub37) it doesn't work properly as the Sub37 starts generating MIDI that causes a loop and prevents the arp from behaving properly, this doesn't happen if i press the keys on the Sub37 itself to trigger the latched arp, only if i'm ysing this other device
  3. Not supported as control surfaces One is a generic three fader box, no brand name The other is a small keyboard controller that doesn't have a mod wheel and i'm using one of the faders as a mod wheel Setting MIDI IN on a track in Logic to All takes signal from both and everything works as expected, however in some cases when set to All i get MIDI loop issues due to other MIDI devices that are plugged in as well (and can't be turned off)
  4. Thank you Mr Wilde that's exactly what i was looking for! (the transform functions menu double/halfspeed)
  5. Hi I have a couple of MIDI controllers that i'm trying to combine into one as one Virtualized unit. Let's call them Controller A and B My use case is that on some MIDI controlled tracks, i'd like to use A+B to control that track but not any others. The options on MIDI control in Logic don't support a A+B but either Off, All or one individual controller. Can this be accomplished somehow through the MIDI environment? I see there is an option to create a MIDI device but it too is limited to the same control options.
  6. Let's say if on a 4/4 bar there are these 1/4 notes on every beat C D E C I'm trying to make it such that the phrase above spans two bar instead (so each is a half note) Bar 1 C D Bar 2 E C And also the inverse
  7. Hi Say i have a MIDI line and i want to test it if all the notes are 1/8 instead of 1/4 or vice versa, how can i achieve this in the MIDI roll editor? Few things that didn't really work as expected The note lenth edit function (half, double) edites the duration of holding the note it seems but not actually rythmical spacing I could accomplish by mousing over every single note and moving one step at a time but that's tedious The nudge feature kind of works but it moves all notes together if all are selected it doesn't change the spacing uniformly in between the notes which is what i'm trying to do Last thing i could do is change the project or region tempo temporarily but that's too clunky of a workaround and affects other tracks
  8. I didn't realize i could tag folks here! @skior @Jordi Torres thank you again By the way i noticed this works well globally except in the MIDI step editor, is there a way to have that follow the setup as well?
  9. Thank you so much! Really appreciate the direction this is all i needed to know
  10. Yeah tried all the above, none of it worked for me unfortunately. Might look for another solution. Thanks a lot for your input and help!
  11. Hi I have a bit of experience in DAWs and recording but more focused on instruments and audio (micing amps, instruments....etc) with some MIDI experience (all kinds of VSTs, controlling external synths, syncing clocks...etc) I often see performances that evolve beautifully using hardware sequencers i think, i don't understand how to create something like this in Logic or Ableton, is it a matter of pre-recording sequences and then switching between those sequences and manipulating volume/effect levels? I think that's what's going on but not sure so hoping someone can confirm, and also advise how to replicate something like this without a hardware sequencer in the DAW. If you point me in a general direction just to tie everything together it'll be sufficient as i'm familiar with the features of DAWs like Logic midi regions, sequencer regions, loops and also some Ableton clips and looping, i just don't know how would one put it all together Examples
  12. Jordi thank you so much! This is exactly what i was looking for and i was able to set it up succesfully in my project. Appreciate your help
  13. Hi I have a midi controller keyboard that doesn't have octave +/- buttons I have another MIDI 2 button controller that i'd like to program to use as a global octave +/- in Logic and have it associated with the above keyboard I think there is a way to do this with MIDI environment but can't seem to get it to work P.S I'm not looking to transpose after/befoe the fact, nor through the inspector or a MIDI plugin on every track. Thank you
  14. For some reason still doesn't work for me and doesn't bind the settings Thank you for the suggestions thought!
  15. Thank you I'm not sure of the timing of the OS update, i think it might have been around the same time yes Yes same sample rate 48khz, comparing round trip latency
