  1. Is it not possible to move any track below the stereo out track in the workspace? (or to the right of the stereo out track in the mixer). I understand how to Show the stereo out track in the workspace (so it's showing in the mixer AND the workspace), but I cannot drag a track below it (or to the right of it in the mixer window). 2. One of my students today couldn't execute an undo command in Logic Pro because his Undo History was "full". After we selected Delete Undo History, he was able to undo once again. Is this common? Will Logic Pro delete undo's itself so you don't have to? I've never seen this in another DAW.
  3. Thank you and thank you. With a scrollwheel, you can use Shift for horizontal scrolling and Option for vertical zooming. Cool!
  4. In Logic Pro 10.4.7, I'm confused about scrolling left and right in the tracks area (so you can see regions that are before or beyond your view). I have a trackpad and simply slide my fingers left and right, but my students have a regular mouse. I don't see a way to scroll left a right. The manual says "To scroll horizontally, drag the horizontal scroll bar in the Tracks area menu bar." But I don't see a scroll bar. Do I have to click and show it? Any advice?
  5. That's make some sense except I don't understand the last sentence. I'm trying to understand it.
  6. What are the differences between the Stereo Out and Master channels in the mixer, regarding signal flow? I'm confused why bringing down the Master fader also brings down the Stereo Out meter. Which one do you bring down if your Stereo Out meter is clipping? How do explain the signal flow?
  7. I am interested in training for Logic Pro and noticed it is offered online and on-site in various locations including Duluth GA which is a four hour drive for me. I'm curious to hear from others who have have done this (at any location). How did it go? Did you take the test for certification? How is on-line versus on-site? Any advice on the matter?
  8. That's correct. The alias is just a virtual link to the folder that's on the external drive. That's correct. Thanks for helping with finding this.
  9. Oh! Well maybe I'm misunderstanding the function of an alias. So, even though I can see the project files inside the alias folder on the internal drive, there are not really there? In other words, they are not taking up space on the internal drive. If the answer is yes, than I was wrong. I was worried the contents of the alias folder were taking up drive space. I just googled alias and found this: "An alias is a pointer to a file or folder on your hard drive. The alias is a small file that takes very little space because it only has information about the location of the original file. It is not an exact copy of the original file. "
  10. I created a new folder on the external first (HS Music), named it Logic, and then made an alias of it. Then I replaced the Logic folder on the internal (jakins/music/logic) with the alias, and renamed it "Logic". Does that look like the right steps?
  11. That doesn't sound right. Are you sure you followed the instructions to the letter? All you should have on your internal is an alias file named Logic. I tried it many times and got the same result. I attached a snapshot. On the left is where I saved a project called Floating By (an external drive). You can see that it is also saved at jakins/music/logic on the right, on the internal drive, even though I didn't ask it to. It is duplicating. We are installing Logic in a school lab and wanting students to save on an external drive only. Does that make sense?
  12. This fixes the problem, but creates a new problem. All my files are saved in both locations: the external drive And the internal drive. I'm not sure this will work for us since the internal drive is fairly small. Am I missing something?
  13. Oh I see it reverts to the Logic folder if I quit Logic. Then try that: viewtopic.php?t=43984 This fixes the problem, but creates a new problem. All your files are saved in both locations: the external drive And your internal drive. I'm not sure this will work for us since the internal drive is fairly small.
  14. Is this with each new Logic Pro Project? Every time we launch Logic pro and Save a new project, the location is ~/music/logic on the internal drive, even if the last project was saved on an external drive. Am I missing something?
  15. Is there a way to change the default location that Logic Pro saves a new project other than ~/Music/Logic? For instance, we would like the default location be an external hard drive and not have to redirect it there every time.
