  1. Thanks JakobP for this useful shortcut (click right arrow) to check all boxes! Thanks to Alan and you, I understand much better how to change templates mid-way through a project.
  2. Your solution of starting from the desired template and importing the project works, Alan, thanks! But my solution of copying all events of a project and pasting them into a new project with the desired template is faster, as I don't need to tick a dozen or so boxes (as in your solution). If only there was a box to tick all boxes... But it's too bad that Logic Pro does not allow to simply change the template of a given project, which would be the simplest solution by far.
  3. How can I change the template of a project, mid-way through it? One complicated way would be to copy all events, close the project and start a new project with the desired template and pasting the events of the previous project. But surely, there must be a simpler way...
  4. I found the solution: 1) Select style Piano 1+2/3 2) Duplicate style (while clicking on the style) 3) Open staff style window (while clicking on the style) 4) Select Hide for Rest for channel 2 I hope this helps others.
  5. Is is possible to have some bars of a score in Piano 1/3 style be instead in Piano 1+2/3? My goal is to have these selected bars display "retained notes" in one voice, for example have the right-hand thumb on a note for the full bar while the other right-hand fingers play other notes. For this I would need to switch from my usual Piano 1/3 style to Piano 1+2/3 style (otherwise in Piano 1/3 style the note hit first by the thumb will not appear to be "retained" for the full bar). But if I switch to Piano 1+2/3 for the specific bar, it assumes that Piano 1+2/3 is set for all bars and the score then includes whole note (assuming a 4/4 time signature) rests (for empty voice 2) in every bar except the one for which 1+2/3 was intended, which I find ugly. Moreover, the score displays an unwanted rest in voice 1 at the start of the bar. This is not what I see in classical scores, for example, in the first 8 bars of Chopin's prelude number 6.https://musescore.com/classicman/scores/68550, the first 7 bars do show "retained" notes (D and F# in the right hand in bar 1), while the 8th bar has none, and the score does not show any unneeded rests. I tried cutting the specific bar into a separate region. But (as far as I know), if I wish a full score, I need to join the regions, and if I do that, then a single score style will be adopted. Is there any simple solution to alternate score styles?
  6. Thanks David (and for you fast reply)! That works for tick value > 1. But how can I select all notes whose ticks are equal to unity? Whether I try in the Transform window to select notes according to Status=Note AND Subposition = 1 1 1 1 or Status=Note AND Subposition <= 1 1 1 10 the selection is limited to notes with both Beat=1 and Division=1. How can I select all notes with Tick=1 (or Tick <=10) regardless of Bar, Beat and Division?
  7. Is it possible to select notes by tick value? I thought that this should be possible using Subposition in the Transform window, which is supposed to be the relative position of the event within the bar. But I cannot get this to work as it specifies the bar number, while it should not if it is relative to the bar.
  8. Thanks a lot volovicg! Indeed I had an old bar sign that I found in List View > Signature. Deleting it solved my problem. P.S. Thanks nanook for telling me that the original whole rest values were normal even for non-standard time signatures (although I found this to be an odd behavior).
  9. I would like to prepare for a sing in 12/8 signature. I opened a new project selecting a template in 4/4. http://www.iap.fr/users/gam/image1.pdf I then change the time signature to 12/8 in the Control Bar and I get 2 unpleasant surprises: http://www.iap.fr/users/gam/image2.pdf 1) the bars have whole note rests and duration instead of 1.5 notes; 2) the 7th bar rest is split into smaller rests (quarter-note, quarter-note, eighth-note, quarter-note and eighth note). Did I do something wrong? Is there a solution?
  10. Thanks a lot Alan for your clear explanations. I followed your instructions, changed the channel from 3 (Piano 1/3) to 4, and this solved my issue indeed!
  11. I have the same problem as Champness. Alan's idea of hiding the pedal markers by changing their MIDI channel sounds very clever, but I have no clue how to do that. If I select the pedal markers with the List Editor, I see that they are attached to the same channel 1 in the List Editor. But the inspector seems the place to modify the channel, at least for notes, but it doesn't show the channel for Pedal markers. Does anyone know the solution? Thanks in advance!
  12. Many thanks volovicg! Since, in the graphics box in the Staff styles window, my bar line was toggled off, it took me a while to think of clicking at the (x-axis) position of the bar line in between the staves (where nothing was present), and indeed the bar line then spanned over the staves in the graphic box, and simultaneously led the end-lines in my score to span across both staves.
  13. The score of my latest Logic Pro X project is missing endlines: instead of having, at the right of each staff, a long vertical bar connecting the lower and upper staves, I only see short vertical lines, i.e. bar lines. How can I put the endlines back?
  14. This seems indeed the simplest solution. Thanks! I wonder why Logic Pro X does not make it even simpler by selecting the notes and right clicking an Option "Play selected notes only".
  15. In Logic Pro X, one can select notes to edit their key value, positions, velocities etc. But is there a way to play selected notes without hearing the other notes of the same bars? This would be useful, for example, to hear the left hand of a piano part.
