  1. lord all-mighty what BS, no offence. to anyone, just came across this while making a video on how to use your audio. all you have to do is go to your audio prefs/audio/general tab/ choose input monitoring...thats all screenshot link https://ibb.co/hKjjGxh Apple's SIP and OCSP causes resets of prefs to any useful components needed for remote network. streaming, like your screen, mic and camera.. you can read more about it here...Apple claimed it was. preparing apps to scan all Mac owners photos around the world to protect children (accept china factory slaves) https://eclecticlight.co/2021/08/12/is-apple-keeping-its-promises-over-online-ocsp-certificate-checks/ While OCSP came about to the public during. the release of Big Sur it had been included in all previous OS system security updates as well, at least since Majove which also (with out announcement) only supported AFPS only...
  2. two months, wow its slow here In Logic go to: 1-the track etc 2-Then theMenu View, Smart controls (or hit B) Once inside smart controls you open Parameter menu, and when you see the little double arrows thats where you click to open a pop up menu exact like automation, There you can pick from Main (volume, sends etc etc) or a plug in and parameters you want to control. This JO shows how its basically done, bu he speaks very sloooow so double the speed on YouTube before going on a. rant
  3. Just came across this, lil late but better then ever, I contacted iLok and they deny this so called feature., they claim its apple behind it so if you use little snitch or Lulu be prepared for problems if you call Apple about security, their EFI updates to bring your machine (cause its more then a year old) and so on.
  4. Logic has a multimeter that can tell you the RMS levels with yellow bars and yellow numbers. RMS is the average loudness measurement. Import one your references into Logic and look at the multimeter to see their RMS levels. here is another thread where someone is confused when playing his bounces from the finder. There is a very good reason to be confused, Apple had no real answers to this when I contacted them last week., because other apps bounce finals that sound identical in volume playback via the finder, example you play the pro tools sessions while previewing the bounce in the finder and both sound identical. Maybe what's going on is logic sounds louder during the session compared to other apps or and daws, but what's odd is no clipping or distortion is noticeable, I am able to pull of finals., and regardless of the fact the file is finals are fine and its all that really matters, it is a bit odd that Logic of all DAWS is louder then the finders playback of the final.
  5. Let me be more clear about this as i spoke to apple. The file we bounce down maybe identical frequency wise, etc, but unlike files bounced by other apps the volume appears to playback 30% lower inside your mac finder or finder via hardware if that is the route your internal apple sound goes through. So apple was not even talking about the actual volume of logic compared to the apple finder when i spoke to them (several ppl) and they made no sense at all with explaining it to me, their assumption was that the finder volume is lower then the 3rd party sound card, which is hypothetical. Im asking why the finder plays back audio from a file created by logic 30% lower while other apps sound identical 100% loudness, was this due to multi-tracks etc etc?
  6. Ok, when you bounce in FCP Etc etc etc go to your file (mp3 etc etc) press the spacebar and tell me if the volume of your bounced file is the same as your DAW....then try this with logic
  7. final cut bounces audio files that play back with the identical volume, clipping or not so if logics output is hotter it should remain the same way in the final regardless of clipping, try it, not normal if you ask me
  8. The reasons they dont use logic are actually public, but I asked them during a class anyway, and they dont care what me, you or mastering houses say about their mixes, its why they are successful and btw no one mixes in the red clipping as you have been insinuating...although its un related to the question which is WHY DO THE BOUNCED MIXES SOUND SONICALLY LOWER then during the session. If your using a program (be it graphics, audio, video etc) but it produces different results from your work then you are either doing something wrong or need to move on if thats the case., and based on you comments I take it you are speaking in behalf of Apple and everyone here on this site, there is no solution? PS Apple claims its the speakers, a plug in, what's next, my ears?
  9. already mentioned that, shutting off normalise still does not help create a bounce with the identical sound one hears during their final mix So is this a BUG or FLAW logic users naively over looked? Pro Tools is fine when bounced, IDENTICAL
  10. Yeh I understand and agree with you, but it does not answer my question to why logic can not produce a bounced mix that sounds identical to the loudness during a session., example, if there is no clipping and its loud then it should remain sonically denticle. Not sure if your aware but Rick Rubin, Andrew Scheps, Andy Wallace and a number of producers and engineers who mix as loud as possible dont even send anything to a mastering house any more because it gets rejected due to reasons me and you mentioned here....and regardless of we and others think Logic should bounce even super over clipped sessions if thats the effect one wants.
  11. ok, I got 10.6 etc Catalina 10.15.7 Late 2013 MacBook Pro i7, 16GB ram, 500SSD ive been trying to figure out why my everything I bounce in logic does not sound as loud or identicle, as when I am actually mixing, I mean we are in the box, digital domaine, both the final mp3/mp4 etc should sound identical no? I tried a number of ways to bounce, the loudest seemed to be shutting off normalise during bounce, and you would think this on gave a boost. no matter what. still does not sound identical while Pro Tools, cubase, Live, etc all bounce down mp3s etc with the identical levels. hoping someone here had some answers to this
  12. Yes please start a new thread for this as this is more of a global complaint regarding Apple's decisions as a company in general. Of course I thought about starting a whole other thread for the 25the time and year as it would help solve 95% of the problems caused by Apple dismantling Logic Pro or crippling machines so users are forced buy new ones, what should really happen is Apple assuring our confidence in products, beta testing them before release and no funny stuff.
  13. real musicians remember Frank Zappa saying "people look really back with brown lipstick", today the so called swamp extends to hypocrites, suckers and liars all over the net normally accounted for scams, which is what it is. lol. you decide your role in the noise people make against it. I answered the previous question, Apple won't lol! [YouTube]
  14. If you call apple about it they will tell you to buy a new Mac, they suggested to me that a new Mac is merely the price of iPhones these days....with some inconveniences of not been portable. Look guys, we can talk about this on another thread and I do respect the integrity of this site but how can anyone answer the question with out mentioning how Apple has been at this trend now for more then 2 decades, I maybe wrong but Logic 10.4.8 maybe the peak and has since been compromised by Apple's trend of dropping support of anything older then a year now days, NO BACKWARD Compatibility and in some cases not even allowing users to re install older systems or finding their devices slowed down, malfunctioning etc all with the intention to force users to buy new ones. So the solution for your problem is simple, buy an older machine to use only for audio, I remember when the Hit Factory in NY had Mac fx machines with Pro Tools nubus cards, and all while pro tools 24 was out the Hit Factory released records using these old machines for Michael Jackson, Tony Bennett, Madonna, U2, Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, Billy Joel etc etc so some times the latest greatest is not all its out to be.....just get an old machine with an older os running Logic 10.4.8 and stay offline.
  15. catalina continues to work great here (yet i'm going to risk it all & update to big sur, despite my rough time with an early beta). like every OS before it, some have a good experience, others... not. but sorry that, for you, catalina was a nightmare. worse for others I know, a close friend of mine actually brought her MacBook to a Genius Bar after installing Catalina, her computer got bricked, when trying to re install the system online her wifi got bricked too, literally...It would fine the network and once connected the Apple server would refuse to allow any connections, then ...it completely stopped working...total black screen, no recharging or any sign of power plug connection.. After taking it to the Genius Bar and had some guy there she knows look at it he got it fixed very fast, nothing wrong with the power plug, battery or screen..it was CATALINA..but he would not share details to how or why.. Then a lock down took place and the guy stopped working at the Apple store in Paris, after a few months he told us some thing very disturbing about her computer, that when we had visited him Catalina did indeed connected to the server but because its a 2015 MacBook the software basically bricked it...I call this extortion and the way the online trend is going with no over site and con artists all over the net its hard to believe you will find a site that wants to criticise Tim Crook or Apple, now we have peak levels of people with brown lipstick all over the net. (if you ever listened to Frank Zappa you know what I mean)
