Apple has told me Logic does not read automation in the imported OMF files ... can you say BUG.

I do need the handles and the automation info from the Avid. It is a make work project if I try to mix a series from scratch. I can't believe Apple, being aware of this, does not fix the problem. I have heard that Avid and Digidesign have written the code that logic uses for OMF imort/export, which explains why they would not want it to work correctly so Logic would be less of an option for mixing film & television. Protools HD the "industry standard" is very pricey and doesn't do a whole lot more than Logic at 1 tenth the price... go figure. Do you know if an update to Logic is coming soon ... 8.0 perhaps?

Has anyone had success loading up a big OMF file in Logic 7.2. I am able to load some small simple OMFs but any big sessions crash Logic. And in the instances where I can load one, all the automation information is lost. Apple told me this is to be expected ... which makes me think what good is that ... no good at all. I'm mixing a series in ProTools but I would love to mix in Logic .... but I can't because of this problem. Anyone have any answers for me? Thanks.
