  1. Yeah I didn't think it was. It's working again, got it. Thanks. And thank you again in Germany for doing this for us. Very much appreciate your effort. So happy!
  2. Does someone have this? The link is no longer viable, yet it was last night but I wasn't at my computer so I couldn't download it. Now it's gone. ??????
  3. I just found out about this. A BIG THANK YOU to all those who made it happen!!!!
  4. I did all of the above except PRAM, didn't see why that should matter since I was using Logic 10.4.1 before I upgraded and it was fine...and since then (several days later) the computer has been shutdown and rebooted daily, and there is still the issue.
  5. OK I have a new observation. When a VI synth is on a track, and I close the project I get a blast of sound when the save dialog box comes up, like I mentioned a few pages ago. All VI synths give me this sound streaming issue. However, the exception is Kontakt, and when I close the project, it closes quietly and as it should if Kontakt is the only instrument in the project. But when I add some 'synth' synth, back comes the sounds.
  6. Yes, input view is showing activity with stopped transport, and the notes showing on the little Input Notes keyboard aren't even any of the notes that are actually used in the MIDI sequence. If I disconnect the MIDI cables from my physical MIDI keyboard, nothing changes. If I turn off the AMT8 MIDI interface, the sounds then go full bloom into even more notes being played, however input activity in the Environment stops. Now it has been 5 minutes since I turned off the unit and the sounds are still blazing away. If I only turn off the track, the sound persists, but if I disable Omnisphere or whatever synth, the sound stops. It seems to be some kind of feedback loop or whatever within Logic that has nothing to do with my hardware. In a way I'm happy about that because I really didn't want to have to replace my AMT8 which has been rock-solid all these years.
  7. I'm still having this issue too, and unfortunately when I launch the previous v10.4.1, it's doing the same thing now too, whereas before I installed 10.4.2, Logic had been fine. I've never had this problem ever, and I've been an owner of Logic starting with Emagic Logic Platinum v4. I reinstalled the AMT8 driver, my RME Fireface driver, trashed the prefs, restarted—all to no avail. Upon launching any project, I am greeted with a streaming blast of sound from whatever VI is on a track. The sounds don't even stay on one pitch. They randomize notes as if they are actually playing something, not just a one-pitch drone. Sometimes when I disengage the Record button on the track, it will stop, but as soon as I click it again, back come the sounds. If I open a new project, it is quiet until I put an instrument on a track, then the sound starts. Would there be anything, anything! in the pref settings that perhaps got mistakenly ticked when installing the new version that would cause this behavior? I have also hit the panic button in my MIDI interface but it does nothing to quiet the constant streaming. This is happening with every synth from Omnisphere to the Logic ones, doesn't matter which one. When I play through a song, the notes linger until it all becomes one giant wall of stuck notes. As it is right now, the app is unusable, and I don't know what else to troubleshoot.
  8. There is something really messed up with my MIDI here. I've reinstalled drivers, restarted, relaunched, and reset the MIDI. There are echo-y "booms" when trying to save. When I launch a project, it starts streaming notes (blaring) without even hitting play, when I enable record, it records some random note that I didn't even press and adds a long list of data. See pic.
  9. I think the issue there is that your LaCie is set up as a TimeMachine backup, so you would not be able to relocate to there. You would need another spare drive to be in that list.
  10. That's good. I found another thing: Scupture. Upon clicking Play, it makes a squeak (before the actual MIDI notes start). Then when soloed, it makes a banging sound on the beat even when transport is paused. I am hoping this version is not incompatible with my AMT8 because it seems like some strange MIDI buffer thing going on.
  11. I think so too. I found a little problem along the way though with this update. When I open a project, the sounds are all a'blazing before I even hit play. Tried another one using Omnisphere which I couldn't shut off the tones, even disabling the plugin didn't work. So I removed it and reinstantiated it only to find it now making odd growls and static. Usually I save the last version of Logic but this time I didn't...will have to grab it from TimeMachine I guess until this settles down. Are your projects opening properly with no craziness?
  12. But what I mean is that the manager window shows that everything is already installed, so I cannot just select one thing and have it reinstall it, because since it already is, clicking the install button does nothing.
  13. True, but there is not enough room there.
  14. Choose Logic Pro X > Sound Library > Open Sound Library Manager, select a small bit of content and install it. It was all installed already, so doing so did nothing. I wonder if I delete the symlinks, then it shouldn't know where anything is installed?? then I can just reinstall everything IF it lets me choose a target drive. I just don't know if it will let me choose the drive or try to install it on the internal SSD.
  15. There is still some files on the main hard drive as you see, and the rest is on Samples. However I can't select Samples as a relocation point. So how do you mean I should try installing a bit of the library?
