  1. How do I hide this annoying column? (See pic) I accidentally used the "copy to live loops" key command and now the column won't disappear even when toggling Show/Hide Live Loops button. I have no live loops in there and I want the annoying column gone exactly like it was before I accidentally hit the KC. Thanks.
  2. This one looped region (and each loop) isn't responding to fade in. It fades out fine. All other looped regions in the project respond as expected to fade in. I tried with all the fade type options (X-Fade, EqP), by applying fade with the fade tool, inspector, and fade zone tool. Tried Flex on/off, with no visible loops (by placing another region directly to the right) and have tried dragging the region on brand new audio track no avail. Of course, if I bounce in place, the problem goes away, but this is a curious bug. The fade takes no effect and the region plays identically with fade in and no fade in. The gif illustrates the peak is identical no matter my fade in setting.
  3. A quick way to do this without any bouncing, etc. is to duplicate the stereo track, then click and hold on the input format button (the little circle/s) at the top of each track's channel strip and select "Right" or "Left" only. This will effectively mono-ize the file using the right or left channel only, but this won't convert the channels strip into mono. In order to truly convert the split file to mono to and use mono channels, bouncing is needed. Click the input format button of your Stereo Out channel strip, mute one side, and select and solo the stereo file you wish to convert Then click the little Bnc button. The result is a mono file of the right/left side only. Do this for each channel.
  4. Never before, been using Logic for years. This was the first time I've ever seen this, it's very weird.
  5. Were the other regions also on the negative side of the timeline? Nope, they were a clean bounce in place of a few seconds of this region
  6. As seen in the GIF, this doesn't fix the issue Yes, it's a very long region, but other, short regions in the same project were behaving this way too
  7. Hi, all, I can't lengthen an audio region by dragging the start point back. I've attached a GIF to show how weird this is. I can shorten the beginnig of the region just fine, but once I do that, I can't drag the region start past the new point I've just shortened it to. If I try 1,000 times in a row, eventually one of those times will work. You can see in the GIF I'm successful about after 20 tries. Any help is appreciated.
  8. So it's been a decade, is there any way to do this? I want to be able to simply select a note in the piano roll and move a knob on my control surface to change its velocity. Can this be done?
  9. After all day of looking into this and experimenting, here's whet I've found: -You can't copy custom track icons into a project for sharing like you can audio files, Ultrabeat samples, etc. -All custom track icons are stored in ~/Music/Audio Music Apps/Custom Icons -When you add a custom track icon using the Logic icon picker, it moves it to the above location and renames it CustomIcon_000.tiff, forcing the lowest unused number. This is why when the track icon goes missing, it displays "000?", because it's looking for CustomIcon_000.tiff. -If you open a project with custom icons, Logic goes to ~/Music/Audio Music Apps/Custom Icons and selects for each track the exact file name with which the project was saved. This means if you send someone the project with custom track icons, whatever icon they have with that name in that location will be shown on the track (after following the next step). -In order to get the custom track icons to display again, open up the track icon picker for a track whose icon is missing. If there's a file in the Custom Icons folder with the matching name of the CustomIcon_###.tiff for that track, it will select it for the track automatically as soon as you click out of the icon viewer (even without picking any icon). Now, there's only one thing I can't explain: Logic must store the project's custom icons somewhere deep in the temp files. When you assign a custom icon to a track, that icon remains on the track until the project is closed, even if you delete it from the Custom Icons folder. You can even delete the track, undo, and the icon will return. You can also duplicate the track and the custom icon will display fine on both tracks. Logic only realizes the icon is missing when a new project is opened, which is when it picks up all of the custom icons. I hope I've inspired some of you to dive as deep into this as I have, and maybe one day we'll see a preference (didn't get it in version 10.5 ): like the one I've mocked up below. Keep creating, people. Edit: I've sent feedback to Logic about this. I encourage everyone who'd like to see Apple add the functionality to include sharing a project with its custom icons to please do the same.
  10. Catch playhead still activating itself in Logic 10.5. Attached below is a gif of catch turning itself on and off randomly in 10.5 when I select or deselect notes. It only happens with certain notes, and only sometimes. See gif below Every conceivable pref for catch is off. I'm not pushing any keys at all, just click-dragging to highlight the notes and clicking elsewhere to deselect them. Sometimes catch activates when I select the notes, and other times it waits for when I deselect them. If someone would like to explain to me how this is normal behavior, I'm all ears. It hasn't happened to me yet in 10.5, but this glitch also manifested in earlier version of Logic when selecting or deselecting regions in the main window while the piano roll window was open. Catch would turn itself on and I would be thrown out of the main window, the piano roll would bring itself to the foreground with catch playhead turned on and all. Many of us are already familiar with the various catch playhead woes, especially when using the piano roll window. It seems at first glance we're stuck with them for now in 10.5 Let's end on a positive note: Live Loops!
  11. Hi all, When I share a Logic X project package/folder, will they be able to see my custom track icons? Do I need to save them in the project folder and use that filepath in the custom icon browser? That might get annoying for every project, not to mention I'd have duplicates for every project on my end. I skimmed for this question on the forum, didn't find the answer here nor elsewhere. Let me know what you guys think.
