  1. Hi, I've been getting stuck notes in the midi monitor lately. When I open a project or template it's always clean but after some minutes of playing piano and programming strings suddenly there's some random note or two displayed at the LCD. It's not very serious for work but I would like to get this sorted. I can't figure out why this is happening because it always happens at some random time. I've updated to Logic 10.8.1 recently and Sonoma and everything has been working great so far except this. I've tried to reset it by following all the instructions in the apple support page for stuck notes and hung notes and none of them work (Click lower section of midi display; Click Stop two times in rapid succession; Double click midi display; Send discrete note offs (panic) key command) Only restarting the app will work. Anyone having a similar issue? Thanks
  2. Just went from Monterey to Sonoma yesterday. Had to update some plugins and Eventide Blackhole seems to be renamed somehow. I still get a bit of hanging when launching Logic in the "scanning audio units" dialog which was introduced in Monterey but besides that everything seems more responsive. Something is strange with the changing tool behaviour though (shortcut T), every time I change tool it's not instant anymore, it takes a second to update the tool I've chosen. If I change to scissors and instantly cut like I used to, it won't do it because it hasn't updated yet. I'm not sure this is Sonoma or Logic 10.8 related because I updated both at the same time. Can anyone replicate this?
  3. I'm having the same problem. I've had it in the past with the Cinepiano library from Cinesamples. It would do a loud pop and leave my Logic/Audio Interface meters at full blast with no sound coming out until I restarted Logic. The issue with this library seems to have been solved when I went from Catalina to Big Sur, but now it appears to happen with something else. I'm currently mixing an album and something is causing this ocasional blast and I really need to find where the problem comes from.
  4. Thank you David. It looks like some users are experiencing the same problem. I tried to create a project to attach but it seems like everything works fine when there's only stock plugins. Exactly the same thing happened to me. New session with only stock plugins and there was no latency when using the side chain input. Any other session gets latency as soon as I use the side chan input on any plugin (stock or not). I'll keep investigating but If you find any solution I would be very happy to know.
  5. Hi, I've recently updated from Catalina with Logic Pro 10.6.3 to Big Sur and Logic 10.7.4. Everything seems to be working fine so far except some annoying midi latency that I'm experiencing and would like to know if anyone has a workaround. As soon as I use the side chain input on any plugin, logic native or third party, I can't play any midi instrument anymore without latency. I've always been able to compose and mix as I go without any latency on buffer size 1024 and latency compensation on "All", using any side chain inputs without any problem so I'm wondering what might have happened during this update. The latency goes away as soon as I switch the side chain input back to internal. Cheers
  6. Hi David, Appreciate you took the time to answer. I just opened my template to take some screenshots and try to explain to you my problem and the solution was right in front of my eyes. The patches (groups of instruments) I was trying to save were not being saved because inside each stack I had "separator" tracks named "--------" that I use as a way to separate the same sounds from different companies. This tracks have no input or output and just divided each brand. Eliminating those tracks solved the problem and now I can save my groups as patches! Thanks again
  7. Bumping this. Anyone ever faced this problem?
  8. Hi guys, I'm having this strange problem and I can't seem to find the reason for it to happen, I'm hoping someone might be able to help! I've been saving some user patches lately to make my life easier when I want to open a new project without a template. I've gathered some libraries I like to use, grouped them, removed the summing stack input bus, assigned the instruments to the stereo output and saved my user patches. This way when I import them into a new project it doesn't create a new auxiliary bus for each instrument stack and I can choose whatever I want. All worked fine until I've tried to open my master template and save a few groups from there. Somehow, every user patch I save from my template doesn't appear in the folder, it's like it never saved. What's going on here? I've tried to open the same instruments on a new project and I'm able to save the patches, but not from my template. If anyone could help, that would be great! Best regards.
  9. Hi guys, I'm posting here to know if anyone knows about this problem. I have a workaround but I would like to get rid of this. When I start my computer and open a project, it will crash while opening a plugin. The plugin is completely random depending on the project but it has been mostly Pro-Q 3 and Omnisphere. The projects are 48kHz and it always crashes when I hear the "click" on my Apollo changing from 44,1kHz to 48kHz. It's that exact moment. My workaround so far has been to open an empty project, change to 48kHz, launch the crashing plugin and then changing to the other project. Every time I do this it opens without a problem. Thank you
  10. Sorry to hear that, did you sort it out? I’m running my Mac Pro with low resolution (in the system OS not logic) engaged and it’s helping a bit. When the project gets crowded though it starts to lag.
  11. Is there any preference file I can delete that could help with this? I'm desperately trying to find a solution.
  12. Here is a video of what's happening that I've posted in another forum trying to get some help:
  13. I just did some tests and the problem is much worse when I'm completely zoomed in the arrangement and try to copy stuff. If I zoom out it's pretty fast and responsive. Also, using just the 27'' screen improves it more than I thought. It's still not snappy but I don't have to wait so much time for stuff to duplicate and move around.
  14. Yes, using only the 4k monitor gives the same result and only the 27'' improves it but not much.
  15. Yes, I changed the scale in the display preferences for the 4k monitor and it's currently at 3008x1890. Using it at 4k improves the responsiveness just little but still really slow..
