  1. Thank you for your reply. In that case the midi file doesn't play a according to the current project's tempo after using Markers to align a frame to a beat. I don't know if my MIDI region or its content (the notes events) are SMPTE-locked as I don't know how to lock it or unlock it.
  2. Thank you for your reply.. I know how to use the small dot but I was wondering if a formula exist using the Tempo Operations for example to make a perfect accelerando from one frame to another frame.
  3. Hello, I have another question about composing music for a movie. I can make the tempo change to a frame copying a SMPTE time and past in the Tempo List Editor. But I don't know how to make a curve tempo that would arrive to a certain frame of the movie, so the tempo change gradually from one point to another and the grid align to the movie frame. Let's say I would like make a tempo change curve from bar 1 at 192 BPM and arrive at bar 5 at 120 BPM (to arrive at the Marker Light-head) I tried the Tempo Operations (Edit/ Tempo/Tempo Operation) but it change the tempo to 120 (the midi file follows the new grid) What would be the right way to make a curved tempo change that would align to certain frame of a movie? Thanks
  4. Hello, I have a movie project for the fist time and I have trouble get the midi follow the tempo change, made with the markers. I made the midi file with Dorico from Steinberg and imported it in the project. It work great if I copy the SMPTE time at a certain pont of the movie (01:00:05:00.00) then move the playhead to another point (bar 2) and make a new Tempo event in the List Editor and paste the SMPTE on it But if I use a Marker as a reference and align it to a bar using beat mapping, the tempo change (from 120 to 48) but the midi (cello) file doesn't change How can I fix the midi file so it's align to the grid (48 BPM)? Thank you
  5. Thank you very much David for your reply. I will report it to apple just in case.
  6. Hello , Thank you for reading this thread. In the piano roll Automation/MIDI Track-based I can add automation with the pointer tool and draw the automation with the pencil tool but I can't copy and paste automation. In the piano roll Automation/MIDIl Region-based I can copy and paste automation without a problem. Any ideas about what I do wrong ? Best,
  7. It works except I get some midi notes when changing the articulations using a midi keyboard to change articulations in step input mode. I can remove the "extra" midi notes without losing the articulations, so I consider this workflow good to go. I made shortcuts with Keyboard Maestro for some articulations and set my Shuttle Pro 2 so I can also change articulations with it I made some midi note button on Metagrid also, so I can change articulations from all over the place Thank you again.
  8. Thank you David Nahmani and Dewdman42 Sorry Dewdman42, I missed some of your comments in the thread. With your precious help this workflow is solved I will use the step input entry. With articulation set. I enter the midi notes with my computer keyboard (A~J), the rhythm (with 1~0), and so on, (octave with ZX...) With a midi keyboard (piano) I change articulations with C0~F1 with the Midi Remote button switch On. I got my articulation shortcut Thank you very much guys
  9. In thread #14 when I wrote, "In my case with the step-input the articulation will not get "printed" saved in the piano roll" you replied "works for me." Did we misunderstand each other? If you can confirm that you can't get the articulation "printed" (saved with the midi note) into the piano roll using a midi keyboard with step input entry, I will give up trying it, as it can not be done.
  10. Dewdman42, Sorry to ask you another question. On #14 of this thread, you wrote that you could get the articulation recorded with and without step input using a midi keyboard. What is your version of Logic?
  11. You were right again Reinstalling Logic didn't fix it. I sent the video of this issue to Apple feedback. Thank you a lot anyway
  12. Thank you for your support I read your thread as carefully as I can. Using the step input with the articulation at the top of the instrument window and clicking on the keyboard of the step input work as you explained. The top of the instrument window's Articulation takes over control of the Articulation left to the piano roll. But when I use a midi keyboard (CME Xkey, LUMI ROLI Casio Privia PX130) to enter midi notes in step input mode, the articulation gets not recorded. Same things for the pencil tool. Using my trackpad, everything is fine, but not with a midi keyboard. I really think that it is a bug. I'll reinstall Logic and try again.
  13. With the pencil tool, articulation will remain in the piano roll, but with my midi keyboard (CME XKey Air, and Roli Lumi) the articulation doesn't remain in the piano roll. I tried with Bluetooth and with a USB cable connection from my midi keyboard to my computer, and I get the same result. It looks that my configuration is wrong somewhere.
  14. Thank you Dewdman42, I made a video to show my situation.
  15. Dewdman42, Thank you so much for your very detailed explanation Right It's working with the pencil tool but not with the midi keyboard Sorry I mean using a midi keyboard without step-input engaged. In my case with the step-input the articulation will not get "printed" saved in the piano roll I don't understand "the control at the top of the strings window" Same as above, I don't understand what is "that this control at the top of the instrument window"
