  1. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone here knows a good way to double a live multitrack orchestral recording (no click) with sample instruments from an orchestral library? I tried to use smart tempo to make a tempo map but it was often way off. I've got all the parts in midi from their score so it's a question of getting them to match the live performance. Is there a way to get the midi instruments to match the transients of the live instruments automatically? Thanks in advance, J
  2. Hi guys, I was overdubbing sax on a tune this morning and this same issue occurred and I remembered to save a copy of the project when it was messed up so I've uploaded it and here's a dropbox link https://www.dropbox.com/s/4k39ouegn3xe233/Big%20Bear%20with%20messed%20up%20take%20folder.logicx.zip?dl=0. It happened very early on so the file is pretty small. Just a few sax takes and a stereo bed track. If you have chance, check out the messed up take folder issue. It seems to always be from the lower of the grouped tracks that a take goes over the track above as in the project I'll link to. It's happening to me every session I do when recording with a couple tracks grouped. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and take care, J
  3. Hi, I'm having the exact same issue. When moving a region it's acting as if you're time stretching the wave (like flex) rather than just nudging a region over. If you show flex view you can see that when dragging the region (not the flex marker) the wave turns white and is stretched. I'm thinking it has something to do with flex or adhering to the tempo. I'm just trying to line up some percussion hits and it's stretching them as I move the region. Pretty annoying. I have a screen recording of how it's happening but can't figure out how to post it here. Here's some screen shots instead:
  4. Hi triplets, I took pictures but had to keep going with the recording. Next time it happens I'll save a version with the problem before moving on. Thanks.
  5. I'll try bumping once. Still haven't fixed it. Reinstalled logic. It's been happening with multiple versions of Logic. I've been recording with an Apogee Duet 2, not the newest interface but I've had no problems with it. Cheers
  6. Hi all, first post here but I'm a longtime Logic user and this forum has helped me out in the past when I was looking for how to do something. I was hoping someone here could help with a recurring problem I'm having in Logic (10.4.8). Here's what happens: when recording an instrument with two mics onto two tracks (grouped/locked together) Logic creates take folders perfectly as I record takes. However, pretty often when recording a take in the take folder both mics end up in one folder and under Undo it says Undo Midi Recording even though there are no midi instruments in the session. The take numbers for each track get off from one another and the folders are completely messed up if I happen to miss it and keep recording takes. Any thoughts on why this might be happening? I've attached a few photos of a session it was happening in. You can see that the take from Sax 103 went into the take folder above it (Sax 4050) which is the other mic being recorded. This shot shows the Undo Midi Recording under Undo even though there are no midi recordings in the session. This shot shows the take numbers getting out of sync because of this. This is 13 which is correct. This take says 12 because take 13 on this track went into the wrong take folder (the one above it). Thanks very much in advance, J
