  1. From a quick Google looks like APFS for newer Macs and SSDs but if anyone feels differently please feel free to let me know
  2. Sorry, I just re-read your initial question... Which out of APFS and MacOS Extended are better?
  3. Awesome, thank you Jakob In the middle of a deadline I don't need the libraries for but will try this as soon as I can
  4. Thanks Atlas, will check/change these settings shortly
  5. Thanks Jakob... I'm not sure tbh, it was fairly "plug and play". On "Get info" the format is "ExFAT"
  6. Hi all, Using 2017 MacBook Pro, 3.3GHz Dual Core Intel Core i5, 16GB RAM. BigSur 11.6.7. I'm not on my Logic computer right now but using a version of Logic maybe 1 year old. I ran out of room on my MacBook so I got an external SSD (Samsung T7 Shield, 1050mb/s read speed) for Kontakt libraries. The load time is fine but I have playback issues. I'm not sure if there's a problem with short/staccato notes but on sustained notes, some of them will cut off and sound like they're clipping. If I bounce the part to audio, the audio is fine (doesn't cut out) - it only seems to be in playback I have a problem. The person/thread below has a workaround for slow loading external Kontakt libraries (which might work for my playback problems too) but it's quite long-winded and I'd rather avoid. So my question is: (a) is this problem common / to be expected? (b) are there any other work arounds? Many thanks
  7. I don't regularly import from other sessions though but I did the two times I had the problem so maybe this is a big factor
  8. I don't open two projects at once and don't work with film so the problen can still happen without those two factors. I do import bits from other sessions though (via the explorer under the "All Files" tab), import audio and use "undo"... But I'm not sure of exact variables/combos/timing when I've had the problem
  9. Can't you just close the project and not save changes then it'll be the version you last manually saved? (that was going to be my workaround when/if it happens again so I hope so lol)
  10. I've had this problem twice now. Once about a month ago so I can't remember any of the specifics. Then it happened two nights ago as well. I "think" it happened as I was pulling in a sample from the Splice desktop app (pulling it into the bottom of the arrange therefore creating a new track)
  11. On a related note... If even when using a "package" which saves all audio etc in the project - why does Logic change the tempo of any original files you've sampled (and changed the tempo of)? [think I've seen it referred to as "destructive" here before]
  12. Ah okay, this is interesting. So just to confirm - whether you were to move a package or folder to another drive, or send a package or folder to a collaborator, they're both essentially the same info/data, just displayed in a different way? The package would have all the same audio and samples etc, they're just not in plain view
  13. Hi guys, When you're using "package" where does all of your audio, samples, freeze files etc save to? And when you're using folder - is there a way to start a new folder without completely shutting down Logic? (I usually just start "new" but it seems that the project will then save into the old project's folder)
  14. Thanks Andrew Yeah seems I just changed it from package to folder... Still not sure why a couple of weeks ago the Sample etc folders popped up in the main Logic folder though
